The last few days I've been messing around with it. But I've only done basic triggers, other than terrain and basic melee map setup.

And I have experience with Modelling, Skinning and 2d Art, and story.

The unit making/balancing I haven't quite figured out yet.

its easy you just have to focuse to something like this:
Intel. Heroes got to remember Big Mana+Big Int.+Strong Spells=Small Damage(attack)
Stren. Heroes you have to remember Strong Attack+Huge HP or Armor= Small Mana amount + not so strong spells(you usually give them stunt or a area damage ability(area around the hero not that he can target an area)) + Slow damage
Agi. Heroes they have Fast Attack+Medium HP+ Medium Mana+ Normal Spells= Small Attack

For units :
It depends of the level
The supposed unit abilitys
The role of that unit(Important in RPGS)
Yeah right

Oh yeah, conceptually, the balance is something I've done before. I just don know how to technically add a new unit, or alter something about a unit. But it should be too hard, I just haven't given it a try yet.

I'll definitely get started with a modpack for SC2 if I don't get around to a WC3 mod.

I like the terraining part, I can create a decent map with decent terrain and features no problem. Its just when it comes to setting up players bases and assigning them units (which I tried to do with my last map which failed miserably). Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to create a hero map like DotA but as a team vs a wave of mixed units that are AI controlled?

Ah cool, I don't really want a hero v hero, I'd rather have a hero vs AI wave of units or things like that. But if you need me to create a landscape for a map, I can do that but may not be as good as others.

That would be cool. I've done that in BFME, and the scripting should be similar. As for heroes, I'm not positive, but you could give them a structure with a bunch of hero options to start with, and only give them enough resources/supply to purchase one. So each player can choose. I think you could just place a start position and then put a tavern on top of it (and you could edit the tavern to give different hero options if you wanted.) The rest would just be scripting the waves, and victory/loss conditions.

Hello to all,
Im back from long absent  Well, I know how to make terrain but not as good as others,
I know some of the Jass coding, Trigger coding and I do also know on making
- Basic Icon
- Basic Loading Screen
- Basic Minimap Screen
- Unit Making
- Basic Abilities
- Texturing / Skinning
- Hero Arena Trigger coding and Bossfight triggered coding

Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to create a hero map like DotA but as a team vs a wave of mixed units that are AI controlled?

Yea, Digz, there is some tutorials on the Hiveworkshop and Helpers.net. It requires jass to make AI scripts and also the waves of units coming out like Tower Defense.
