I'm making this thread because, primarily, I want to know what really attracts people to the mod. It's like market research I guess...

Secondary to that, however, I just had the most incredible battle of my life and I have to share it. So, here goes:

The planet was Kashyyyk. I had just conquered the world as the Mandalorians and it had been the most heavily defended world yet. The space battle was difficult and the ground battle was bloody. The confrontation claimed the life of one of my field commanders, a Basilisk pilot and benched several of my heroes. Many New Republic soldiers and their Wookie allies perished in the battle but for nothing in the end; the world was taken. The New Republic, in an effort to re-liberate their friends, attempt to raid the planet but fail. Their only option now is brute force. But how does one beat a force of Mandalorians using brute force alone?

Their answer: 8 Corellian CD-10 heavy cruisers, 4 Assault Frigate MKIIs, 1 Nebulon B, 6 Marauder-class Corvettes, 4 DP20 Gunboats paired with an equal amount of CR90s, 15 squads of B, K, E, A, and X wings (each) and the entire fleet being led by the great Admiral Akbar himself with Booster Terrik flying heavy support from the rear.

My fleet: 1 lvl 3 station, 1 Lictor-class heavy cruiser, about 15 squads of Starviper and Supafighter wings (each), 3 wings of Kyr'Galaar Bombers, 7 Crusader-class corvettes, and both of my fleet commanders; Novoc Vevut and Ram Zerimmar all being led by the Mandalore himself, Boba Fett.

The battle was the most intense I have ever fought, forcing me to actually use tactics to pull through...but even then the victory was narrow. I lost almost my entire fleet save for Fett and a squad of Starvipers. Novoc Vevut also survived but only with his engine HP intact but in the red. My space station also made it through but only barely. All in all, the battle was about 10 minutes long, making it the most fierce battle I have yet encountered in this game.

So there it is. Hope that was exciting to read as it was for me to fight...probably not but ah well. Share your stories here as well! I'm interested to hear what other experiences people have had.

Mine was a few days ago, with me as the Mandalorians attacking the Remnant. I don't quite recall the details, but I do remember that what made this moment awesome was the right music. And chance.

I was pretty much finishing up the battle, about halfway through the battle (I play music from Winamp) Duel of the Fates starts playing. I managed to use the film mode and saw some pretty cool advancement series for my Mandalorian fleet. And then, as the song got towards it's climax, I was pretty much doing the finishing touches on crushing the Remnant.

Not completely awesome without the music, but that's mine. So far.

Nice ;) Cinematic mode does offer some cool moments, when the timing is right.

i was in a battle against the mandalorians i had 8 star destroyers daala, 5 tartens, 4 vics, and 2 of those fighter carriers for imperial remnant then i had 2 dominaters, the mandals had 10 kadalbes and 5 of those other ships all of there heroes with 20 star viper and 30 -40 supa fighter and that other 1 that i have forgotten.... the battle took on for 5 minutes... then i died... but that wasnt my awesomest battle o.O

I had 1 acc 2 tartens that missile thing, a llv 2 space station and i had to fight 10 star vipers and supa figers and that battle ship that isnt a kadalbe the mandals have... along with the dungeon ship.... that one lasted 12 minutes :O and i won ;)
Apparently... more people die every year by donkeys, then in plane crashes. To avoid death by a donkey, avoid donkeys, to avoid death by plane crash, avoid plan crashes! simple.

M4 is a single/3 round burst gun, it did not serve its role as a compact assault rifle for close quarters, so they made much greatness that is now known as the m4a1 which is so great it has automatic fire, and with that greatness came spray n pray.

M16A4 single/burst very accurate, moderate power, in close quarters, fix a bayonet, cuz you aint gonna hit crap with it.

You beat those ships with only one Acc and 2 Tartans and a Broadside? Dang... that's either really lucky or you're quite the tactician.

yes i am quite the tactitian... i did it 3 times until i could get a ISD fleet over there.... key is to leave ur acc by the station... dont let it get killed have interceptors kill bombers and what not thne have the 3 bombers that spawned kill the big ships... tartens also to defend the acc.... but if they have kedalbe with all that you die :O i found that out 4th time o.O

Well, it's less tactics in RotM than it would be in vanilla FoC, considering the bombers are kinda overpowered now...lol
(not that I'm trying to take the spotlight away from you dude, still, nice job. Also, I have a feeling I'm probably getting annoying with my comments and such, and so, Farseer, if you'd like some overall feedback, I can give it. I certainly have some praise of this mod, but also criticism)

Best moment? I haven't had any massive battles, per se, but I'd say the best part was when I got a Basilisk in skirmish and watch it punch New Republic Jedi to death. mmmmmmmm

(...) have interceptors kill bombers and what not thne have the 3 bombers that spawned kill the big ships... (...)

(ver. 4.2)
I got some small scale memorable battles with defending my space stations. I realized I can kill a fleet of 3-4 Mandalorian frigates, their flag ship and bunch of fighters with just a few starfighters and base spawned fighters. It's like cheating when you have fighters after fighters from base but their fighters just die and are dead. Anyway all enemy fleet was vanquished, despite them being cloaked from time to time. I haven't seen cloaked ships but my starfighters DO seen them and shadowed them until they realized cloaks ;-) Then they got destroyed.

Great cinematics, very fine art of ships and units.
But I would suggest to remove unlimited spawninig fighters from bases as this only helps humans. When I attack computer controlled base - my fleet concentrate firepower on base ignoring oposing ships, so no more spawning. But "AI" can't do that unfortunately.

Still a great mod it is.
