Some of you may be familiar with Bill Bailey. You may or may not be familiar with the Tenori-on, a crazy little sound-generating digipad from Japan that Bill Bailey used in his most recent stand-up tour. He ends up basically turning the swastika into an oddly chipper digital tune.

Well naturally, being the slave to gadgetry and pointless stuff that I am, I thought "WANT ONE". Then I saw the price. I am still searching for my lower mandible.

Anyway, I found two much cheaper (and, thusly, more fun) versions.
Tonematrix, which is just the one soundboard.
and
Nudge Which has the ToneMatrix soundboard, and also seven others. And what's more - you can have all of them going together to make an accompaniment.

Yeah, pointless and you're all blatantly going to slag me for this but what the hell - I found it fun. Thought I'd share.

Damnit Ash, I was supposed to be doing schoolwork for those last 20 minutes!

I really don't do requests and my Arnor Soldier is not fit for BFME. Don't ask me for either.

It seems like the most random thing one human being could possibly do.

Yeah, that's Bill Bailey for you. He's something like the king of random.

I bought one of these a couple of years ago when they first came out. They're pretty entertaining for a while, although mine has been gathering dust for a while now.

Well I can now feel a smug satisfaction that at least my waste of time was free! ;) At a time of financial woe, at least I saved five hundred quid, plus three hundred quid VAT :)

I have a whole room full of instruments. £450 was a drop in the ocean compared to the cost of some of them :p

It seems like you have invested a lot into making noise, yet have a tendency to loose interest, Amber.

Not really. I play quite a few strings. Once you're familiar with one family of instruments it's quite easy to pick up another that's not too disimilar.

Hmm... when I complete my fiddle lessons, I'll see how easy it is to start up violin.
