Just wondering how all of your campaigns are going currently...You could post what you like to do or what you like to build your fleets around/or armys and what units you find personally usefull etc...stuff like that

beat core worlds for PRM on hard, beat skyhook for empire on hard in 39 weeks, GFFA for empire on hard im progressing but I keep having crashes so its frustrating and nearly imposible to play, I will have to wait till next week when i get back to my PC to reinstall and debug the game:
I usualy build imperial fleets around high level tectors and ISDs with many dreadnaughts as heavy support for important battles and victories and acclamators for fast attack (strike crusiers when availible) and defence duties, my fleets are supported with venators and lancers as well

Campaigns going not too bad although only playing on medium atm. I aim to get the tectors as emps sooner rather than later since they are really good for taking out enemy installations being tough and having excellent range. Only real weakness is fighter/transports but unless there are a horde or several highly upgraded/advanced variants the tector will usually whittle em down. Early on the heavy dreads are pretty good but they lack the staying power of the bigger cap ships.

For rebels I like the recusant and the big mon cals. The recusant is nice at sniping ships which tends to make them come into attack range of other ships which can reduce the damage taken a fair bit although the recusant is a bit vulnerable to other cap ships.

I ran into a problem. I'm a little over 2 years into the Galaxy Far away Campaign. I Finally got to Kessell as the empire. During that battle I realized that when I clicked on some of my ships, nothing would happen- I can't control them. After that battle all of my new constuctions have that problem too. They can't move off the system.
I went back a save and just auto resolved space battles. But by doing this I take a lot more losses than I would otherwise. Does anyone know why this is happening or how to stop it?

make an account and start a bug discussion or tell your complaint on another bug discussion already up that alot of people are talking on of recent-
question for everyone what class do u see as the best "anti aircraft" ship, a.k.a which ship can kill the most bombers and fighters or defend your capitals from those bombers/fighters-currently i like the dreadnought heavy cruiser and the Venator since the Venator can fight fire with fire by dishing out a ton of its own fighters and bombers-although why it has soooo many transports compared to bombers and fighters is beyond me...

In my outer rim campagin I basically started a new clone war as the Rebels. I built armies of clones out of Kamino supported by fleets of 5-8 Dreadnoughts until I could get my X-wing and Y-wings upgraded to max and built in massive fleets to assault the enemy with. Now I have Ackbar, and Slam raging across the CSA planets. BTW I really loved the idea of Slam with Moonshadow, great thinking PR team!

Have you downloaded the 64-bit compatibility patch? If so, you probably need the relevant fix to get it working with PR.

Empire / Core world is incredibly easy even on hard. It seems that the pirate planets are to well defended for the rebel ai so it decides attacking me instead. Sometimes I helped by invading the planets I dont need and leaving them defenseless.
Empire / GFFA is much harder because the rebel ai is very aggressive.

Currently playing Rebels on Outer Rim, about to start an Empire GFFA campaign. Currently, I have a Starfighter Research Facility on Polis Massa cranking out new updates to the Y-wings, X-wings, and working on researching the R-41 Starchaser. Teth is currently operating as my Infantry Research Facility, where I recently upgraded the Vanguards all the way, working on upgrading the Rangers. Rudrig, since it already had a Research Facility, is working as my Research Hub for my larger ships, where currently I've acquired CR90c Corvettes, Dreadnaught Mark III's, and MC40b's, and working on researching the Marauder-class Corvette. Generis has recently been hit hard in orbit by an Imperial Force sent from Despayre, but I managed to send them packing when they tried to land on the surface. Dantooine, Mustafar, Mygeeto, Telos, Sluis Van, Ryloth, and Felucia have been inactive. Mon Calamari is currently the HQ for my current operations, and not too long ago I snatched New Alderaan from the pirates. Also, I recently added Boba Fett to the garrison defending Kamino.

Maybe an odd thing to be excited about, but I lost my first ground combat today. After gradually whittling down my space forces, (gotta love those carracks in groups, but alas they eventually fell to spammed EF-77s, and some Recusants), the rebels attempted a landing, and just as I was going to call a retreat, they decided they had enough. Rebel losses = 3 pairs of juggernauts, 6 freerunner platoons, 2 or 3 T4-A pairs, a couple speeder bike groups and some infantry. After that battle, I got rid of my outdated AT-ST's and AT-AT's and replaced the AT-AT's with newer versions and the AT-ST's with chariots. A short while later, after their space forces had left and I just rebuilt my shipyards, they attacked again and destroyed my hard work. Shortly afterwards, they sent a ground attack consisting of 25 specforce vanguards, 16 specforce rangers, and I think another 6 freerunner platoons. Needless to say, my purely mechanized defense was utterly shattered and left me staring ashamed and a bit... angry. But watching mini proton torpedoes launch from 4 vanguard platoons at the same time at an AT-AT is oh so beautiful to watch. Rebel losses from the second battle = not nearly enough. My losses, 2 series IV speeder bikes, 2 platoons of fully upgraded chariot light assault vehicles, 1 AT-AT x3 pair, 1 AT-AA x3 pair, and a fully upgraded platoon of Talons.

Hopefuly I'll be getting some new parts for the computer and can enjoy the game even more!

I found on the Outer Rim campaign that I could sneak Obi-Wan from Felucia to Rudrig with minimal fuss and thus get not just faster research but cheaper research thanks to The Negotiator's diplomacy ranking

I love the new hero/planet systems

Yeah the vanguard units are pretty awesome vs vehicles. Do even a nice job on AT-AT especially upgraded vanguards. Just started a new core worlds on hard as empire. Made silly mistake and lost vader in a victory isd during first battle. But have built a fleet of skiprays which I just used to demolish corellia. I really like to get kalist vi and corellia early now so I earn credits for killing rebel and neutral units, makes quite a big difference to the income.

Hero wise I really like vader for ground combat as hes a total monster. Mara jade isnt too shabby and the guy whos name escapes me but comes with a fully upgraded AT-AT is really nice. One AT-AT + a human type hero to capture ground pads is a really nice combo.

Space wise I think that the praetors need a substantial cost reduction as they are totally not worth it atm whereas I think skiprays need a cost and especially a build time increase. The build time alone on a praetor prevents spamming them but I see no reason to cost more than say 3 isd. Got the vader upgrade to praetor although I did notice this really slows him down on the galactic map but with his bonuses he can pretty much solo a fairly large battle however the time taken to upgrade him and cost meant I could of just build a fleet of tectors or a horde of skiprays.

Wouldnt mind seeing just how crazy the executor is now, sounds like its a fleet unto itself but the 700k cost makes it somewhat prohibitive unless playing on one of the largest galaxies I guess.

I do like the way you can upgrade some of the space heroes but it would be nice if the previous version hinted at what they wanted in order to upgrade. On that point I really like the new ground unit upgrade text which says what the new unit will be in detail.

One thing I learned during a rebel campaign was never auto resolve with basic hero unit in space battles. My princess leia with an isd lost to a ship which wouldnt even have the power to drop the shields on the isd if it ignored it, and had run away from the previous battle which I had not auto-resolved.

Great anecdotes! I'm excited the AI beat you as well.

The Praetor mostly needs a new model and probably armament overhaul.

Still trying to figure out a workaround for heroes and auto-resolve.

I am definately going to try this out sometime today :)

Just started with an GFFA Campaign as the Empire. I built a Capital Research Facility at Bilbringi (Word to the wise: Gyndine already has a Capital Research Facility when you start, but I wouldn't use it on the get go, because of it's close proximity to Kashyyyk.) and started researching the Imperial-class and Victory-class SD's. I used Gyndine's facility to upgrade Pellaeon to having the Leveler and upgraded the Venator-class. I recruited Mara Jade on Coruscant, and Kam Solusar and Sedriss on Byss, and upgraded Darth Vader to have Black Squadron. I'm using the Research Facility at the Maw to upgrade and research my mid-size cruisers, which is currently working on researching the Nebulon-B, which I probably won't use too much, as I'm only using it to get to the Lancer Frigate. I recruited Thrawn on Yaga Minor, and currently I'm trying to figure out what planet to attack, and I'm anxious to use Bly in combat :smilehuh: So, if anyone (dev's specifically) has any advice on which planet would be not too challenging to take and would give me a good bonus, it would be appreciated.

In general, planets with low space colony levels and without an Underworld will be easy to take. On the other hand, they tend to be the less useful planets in terms of bonuses. I suggest you build a lot of probe droids or recruit a hero who has a high Intelligence rating to scout out enemy planets.

Vic 3's and 4's are epic. Earlier in my inner rim campaign, the rebels broke my fleet over Anteevy after a couple battles. My fleet didn't consist of much before, but afterwards I was left with 1 Acclamator, 2 dreadnought heavy cruisers, 1 bayonet light cruiser and 2 carracks. By this time I had researched up to a Vic 3 and added 1 to that fleet over gromas 16. The rebels attempted to take gromas and miserably failed in the face of the Vic 3. With that same fleet, I retook anteevy's space, and proceeded to take another two planets. Recently it's become neccessary to have two Vic's in my fleet instead of one so now, (week 98), I'm just starting to research the Imp star destroyer.
