so, yeah, i'd love to know why you couldn't manage to make your excellent mod in the typical foc format... meaning using the same kinds of files the game makers and most other modders use?

Namely the text, xml dat and lua extentions. I just tried to see what's written in your mod and everything is written in either .meg or .alo .... not cool.

thanks

Get a meg extractor and you can view the xml etc that are inside them. The fact the game engine recognises the mod should be a clue that they are in the same format as the game makers used.

Look at the Data folder for EaW and FoC, then you will realize that the mod is in the same format as the games themselves. As wuffles said, get the MEG extractor to gain access to the XML and LUA files.

I've locked your other topic, 1871. There was no need for two stating the same things. We use .meg files because otherwise the AI changes we made wouldn't work. All the rest has been explained to you by these helpful fans.

Phoenix Rising, head of mapping. Thanks to everyone who got us to the position below!

I find this thread to be bizarre. I don't think you have a clue what you're talking about.
