not a surprise.
id imagine that there would have been times when Leia might have needed to go on a mission by herself, thus she would need to be her own pilot. or there might have been a situation where there was a pilot shortage or a critical mission.
or a bet with Han
for game-play purposes, using 1.2, id say give her a squad of C-models, with the Stealth passive ability that Han/Chewie, Wedge, Page, etc.... have.
i figure that if the fighters would have to fight, whatever stealth they had has gone out the viewport
come to think of it, i think the only ones who didnt put boot-to-ass for the rebellion were C-3P0 and some of the Medical Personnel

edit: and even then. the Medics and Doctors are bound by an Oath to do no harm, so they get an out, which wouldnt apply to droids, i would imagine.

not at such a skill level...

The daughter of The Chosen One... Pure Skywalker bloodline... As potentially powerful in the Force as Anakin and Luke... Star Wars Universe... Yeah she can fly an X-Wing...

If it's hard then it's worth doing.

Yeah, I really don't see a good reason why Leia couldn't be a starfighter pilot.

Leia flew a Y-Wing (in Splinter of the Mind's Eye), why not an X-Wing?

Yeah, I really don't see a good reason why Leia couldn't be a starfighter pilot.

because when everyone can do everything it becomes redundant and diminishes characters like wedge, who ARE pilots. Thats one of the few things i disliked about the rouge squadron books, which they adressed in the wrath squadron series, good pilots =/= good commandos.

If this was neurosurgery, I'd agree, but there's no reason why Leia couldn't have learned at some point in her life on Alderaan how to fly, even if it it was just a skyhopper or some other atmospheric craft. If the adopted son of Tattooine moisture farmers can afford to purchase and maintain a T-16, there's nothing stopping an Alderaanian princess from having a similar craft, too.

Oh, and don't forget she has the Force on her side, too. I think I heard something about that capability boosting people's reflexes and awareness. I hate to pull out the Force card, but if there's anything the Force can boost it is flight skills since those are so dependent on spatial awareness and reflexes, assuming people have them in the first place (which as said above Leia probably already does).

Yeah, it's the implied skill level that I have a problem with.  Luke and Wedge both end up with Pilot 5 - that's the undisputed best in the galaxy.  I've tried to be fairly restrained with the 5s I hand out, so anyone a cut below Wedge or Luke gets a 4.  Narra, for example, he's a 4.  Chewbacca is a 4 - Han is described as the better pilot.  In the broader sense (outside the given comic), Leia doesn't come close to 5 or even 4.  I could see her at 2 or 3, comparable with Ackbar and Lando.  For the sake of argument, Pilot skill is not intended to reflect inherent Force ability.

id have her end up at a 3, but with the timeline we are dealing with, i would put Luke and Wedge at 4. Luke hadnt yet developed his powers fully, and Wedge hadn't killed the Second Death Star, or anything past that. so it kinda works out

this is my issue with it as well, no one ever said she cant fly an X-wing, but doing it with this level is kinda ludicrous. Maybe stick her at a 2 and then just give the squadron galactic stealth?

You know, maybe we should wait to see what lies beyond the first issue of the comic.

Luke and Wedge start out at 4 and reach 5 with upgrades.  Certainly they're not 5s at Yavin.

yeah, then most any Corellian/Tattooine(ian) pilot would start off at 4 (more towards the Corellians, on account of them not having the Force to begin with.)

oh, while i'm thinking of it, are there going to be any new heroes? i don't need details, a simple yes/no will work

Yes, and I'll point you to the news post on the new campaign.  I'm sure you can surmise a lot of them from there.

Leia is stated in the books as having been trained in other things like shooting, so I could see her being trained in flying, and being GOOD at it, but rarely actually doing it because she's more of a political leader than a comatnt.

My take on it (and how it could work in PR):
Pre Episode IV: Leia's the princess and galactic senator, and rebel spy.

She likely learned how to fly from royal pilots assigned to teach her (if Bail didn't teach her himself), but never would actually fly missions due to the fact that if she got IDd it'd be a MASSIVE liaility for Alderaan, and the Alliance.

Post Ep IV: Planet gone, allready exposed to the empire, she'd have nothing to loose, politicially speaking, by flying missions.

Then somewhere in there she moves higher in rank within the rebellion, and once again it becomes a liability for her to regurally fly missions.

Also that's sorta what happened to Luke, he was a great pilot for a bit, the nhad to devote his time to other responsinilties.

not to mention that the comic may portray her as a good pilot but not considering flying a way of life like say Han or Wedge.

So for PR, I'd say maybe give a option to upgrade her to have a fighter squadron in the post ANH timeframe, but have some other upgrade remove her from field operations once the ESB timeframe comes into play.

Playing PR when stoned is awesome
