With some work on the website coming up, I was wondering if someone wouldn't mind setting up hosting for Unity like T3A and the likes, PM me the FTP and password as usual and i'll pass it onto the people who are responsible for the website and partners of the unity section
we'll probably need cpanel and the usual setup

I haven't had any contact from Phil recently and Rob38 is MIA

I'm hoping to get unity.revora.net up soon so we can start testing scripts and layouts
its something we can work on at the current moment

Thanks in advance, just lost without that admin support.

Sounds good. not to sure about the commenting system.. hmm. I find that not many users actually use the commenting system but rather post in the forums instead.

If i can get access to the t3a site background code i could do everything a crap ton quicker cus t3a and c&c etc all use the same type article system and widget system. therefore making it basically changing of the stylesheet and links etc.

-if its possible to get temp access just for that kind of php and html and js etc that would be great!

I agree, but the php scripts would probably be generic, they would use revora's login cookie's and database
it shouldn't be to much... just need the scripts to link the pages together
on top of that, how do we make dynamic pages with forum content?
no-way in hell are we going to make a page for every damn game manually

i posted the comment system as a backup in case we couldn't get the php scripts for the revora login, being that anyone and everyone who has that kinda power probably isn't around anymore

alright, looking good
now i need to figure out a way to link the page to revora's forums
Looked into it and came across IP.Board API methods
http://www.invisionp...rs/api-methods/

however i have no idea what is useful as a lot of it seems like its for admin duties
the only capabilities we need is that of a guest
to be able to call thread titles and first post content and use their data on the unity front

when logged in, they should be able to reply to topics and that's about it really

ill sleep on it and see what i find in the morning
Also, Apollo I miss your work mate, sorry i went ahead and did stuff but i had time and wanted it done,

you can still help out of course, just wanted something up and running to work with

Thats fine. Just do the general idea and ill work on a separate site that will be done at some point. on a side note i won a regional computer fair competition taking first place in website design. that's why i have been busy. now on to the states level!

I've done what i can, the nav menu I'm having trouble styling and the rest needs php coding  which i can't do as well as i'd like
I also have no idea how to use the IP Board API's to create dynamic content

First of all, nice job so far with the layout. Sorry for the lack of support (at least from me) so far. I'm overloaded with real life stuff.

Anyway, you need people to login with their Revora account... what's the purpose? I mean, what kind of features in the site would require the user to login?

And, Revora has its own script for it, which is called RAS (which stands for Revora Account System). Sites are added manually at that place by someone with cPanel access at the RAS account, I guess.

Well the obvious really, to be able to host projects on that page with members of the forums, similar to the modDB page which would be implimented (hopefully) like the T3A tutorials, where you can comment and post things, but instead of tutorials, your own project.

and yes, i've noticed RAS while i was code sniffing :whathuh:
i believe slot 13 is available?

on a side note, i do have an idea of how I'd like it setup but its probably not possible
ideally there would be a submit project option where you fill in details upload a max of 8 images and post it to the website
i could do it all in PHP but I'm not sure we'd have full support of that to be able to host a forum of my own.

It would be much easier and smoother if they were simply integrated together

i know IP board has some php scripts but maybe that's to much of a stretch to simply throw them in and expect it to simply work
we might have to create a custom php script with header flags if we can't integrate it like T3A
my main concern is the lack of key members of the forums with powers

in other words, what if those who have access to those admin rights and that never show up?

The website will probably be set up like t3a and c&c. even your "design" is a basic replica. If you want to be unique come up with something brand new.  and a link would go form the website to the revora forums - unity front forum.

the background image looks rather. stolen... from duesex.com and stole there header and just covered there logo. which is built in..

Its illegal to do that. you have to create the graphics from scratch unless they are free to use. which those ones obviously are not.

ok smart ass, first of all the background is the only thing that's stolen and even then, its merly a place holder. the rest of it was inspired by their design but all graphics were made from scratch
Edit: its a 3 column layout with a header and footer, its a web format and i designed it that way
want something original? its not an artists portfolio, its supposed to be a display page and its setup for that job
PS, in one of the first posts in skype i stated that the main theme/inspiration was DeusEx.com

i know you did state that and that header looks awfully a look alike except changed there greenish squares to honeycombs, even during development its really not allowed to be used as a place holder. websites are suppose to be original that way it draws the user in to it. your coloring is superb and the boxes and such look great. im concerned about the header and background image. and i never said it was an artists portfolio. and i believe forum rules state cussing prohibited but what eve.

my main concern is that the copyright on that website isnt ruined or in other words they find unityFront and they sue us and Revora gets downed because of it. Believe it or not it could happen. UNLIKELY but possible...

Revora would take the site down before getting sued.

Anyway, take your time to tweak the layout and we'll try to use T3A Articles System with the layout you come up with. It shouldn't be something hard to do.

In the meantime, I made a replacement for the your 'borrowed-without-permission' Deus Ex background, which we can use because it's actually scratch-made, if you wish to do so:
