Hello from Greece,

 

i'm one C2MOC fan. I have played C2DP 1.34 and i like the modding thing.

 

 

I edited the files and i managed to increased the quantity of the items a character could carry.

 

I've read the modding tutorials and i have a lot of questions.

 

I'm thinking whether it would be possible to have Green Beret use the precision rifle. In mission 2 there are some rifles available but Duke is not present.

 

Would it be possible to enable Tiny to use them? If yes, what about the hotkey? Both precision rifle and knife have the same hotkey, "A".

It seems very difficult for the newbie. I thnk that these questions were a little bit advanced.

 

Next question. I visited the site commandosHQ.net and i saw the modding tools. In the file named codes.zip there are text files with scripts.

 

For example, in the folder Commandos there two files for Green Beret: Codes\Commandos\Green Beret main.txt and Codes\Commandos\Green Beret with Gun, Knife, smoke bomb.txt.

What are these scripts? I suppose that such a script should be included in mision's files in order to have Green Beret in the mission. I suppose that using the script of the first file Green Beret will start the mission with no equipment ehile using the second file's script Green Beret will start having pistol, knife and smoke bomb.

Am i right?

If you want to have the Green Beret in the mission, you'll have to include both scripts. By the way, the scripts from the file codes.zip can also be found here: https://sites.google...codes/commandos

 

Actually you CAN add the Green Beret by only including the script "Green Beret with Gun, Knife, smoke bomb.txt". But without the script from the other file you can't select or control the Green Beret and there's no "One of your men has died" message if he gets killed.

 

But you can try it yourself, simply open any *.MIS file (provided that the Green Beret isn't already present in the mission) with a text editor and insert the script (don't forget to change the XYZ coordinates from 0.0 0.0 0.0 to something else)

What are the XYZ coordinates? The initial position of the commando?

Only the object code [ .TOKEN COMANDO .POS ... goes here.

The scripts from the main.txt belong to the BICHOSVIP and SUBINTERFACES section.

Exactly! In the Commandos 2 debug exe you can see the coordinates of the cursor by pressing CTRL-

Just move the cursor to the position where you want to place the Green Beret and use the coordinates as the XYZ values.

I have opened the .mis file of Is Paris burning? (original version). I'm starting figuring out how it's working.

 

Let's me ask something regarding the Green Beret and the sniper rifle. Is it possible to make Green Beret able to use the Sniper rifle in a specific mission or the changes affect all missions? Currently, just a yes or no would be enough.

but ani name is all mission to use.  

 

can change the ani name to new name:  comando.ani --> comando_m.ani

The files has the keywords. Every keywords has its own keywords (something like a sub-keyword). In the end we have the values.

 

.mis file

I noticed that the order of my .mis file and the order of the page mentioned above is not the same.

 

The order in the page is as follows.

I suppose that the order of the keywords does not affect the game.

 

The keyword .MUNDO has a sub-keyword named .BICHOS. According to the page this sub-keyword has the code of the objects: allies, enemies, beds, chairs etc. This sub-keyword takes the greatest part of the file.

In the file PA.mis (original version) I've counted more than 300 objects (and I haven't finished).

 

Objects' code

In the code of the commandos there is a big number of parameters named AUxxxxxxxxx. Some of them are:

I suppose that these are the abilities of each commando plus the items he can use. In the code inside the .mis file most of them seem to be null.For example,
