As with every year, the anticipated ModDB Mod of the Year contest is coming around, and we've more than a couple to promote, so please give our hosted mods a round of applause for making it to the Top 100 and a round of votes to show our appreciation!

Exactly which means it started 15 days ago.

Not that it matters because I'm sure the 20 other views who haven't commented have probably already voted for their choice.

Which is good.  But my sacred hatred for Moddb continues, so I won't be taking any part.  But when the results are in, you can post them here, Ren, and I can gawk at them appropriately.

And why do you hate ModDB exactly? Regardless of the fact that most of the users are silly (just like anywhere on the internet) and like to make pointless reviews of either 10 or 1 stars, doesnt make the system itself bad. How would mods stand a chance of getting any attention without it?

Because I was there for years, and one complete rat hole got my friend and I banned just because he didn't like us.  Ef'ing Frosty.  And no one else did anything about it.  And all my Morrowind work couldn't be touched, and it ended up with me never moddng again.  That's a pretty good reason to hate an entire community of idiots.  I don't even care how valuable it is to mods.

I find myself unsettlingly sympathetic.

If I see that slag bag Frosty gone, then I might try and rejoin.  Oh well... as long as we win something, I'm fine with this.

and it's closed now to wait and see which mods gets which.

Black Mesa will probably get an honourable mention which is bullshit in and of itself.

It won last year I believe and is now a commercial game so you'd think it would have been barred from the competition and especially not allowed into the top 100.

Which sucks for mod number 101 to be kept of the top 100 by a mod that shouldn't be there.

There have also been allegations of bot voting for one of the mods (No more room in hell I think) so it kind of kills the whole competition.

Maybe MO will get a top 10 placement it seems to have done pretty well in popularity lately.
