Well today is my 10th year anniversary, right down to the day. I am proud to be a part of this community for such a long time. I first came here looking for Generals maps and found Origin. At this point there really are only a few of us left from back in the 2003 creation of Revora. Detail, Mastermind, and Mithril are long gone. Only Banshee and I are really the oldest vets here leadership wise. God bless him really. I've watched people come and go and some simply slowly fade away.

We've done quite a bit of remarkable things together as a team throughout my time here. It's a very adaptive environment. Shifting positions, angry situations, and finally stability. I've made friends, lost them, and found them again in my tenure.

I understand most people here only enjoy their time for a little while, and I hope you enjoyed this time with me...for a little while.

~Hostile (Eric)

P.S. I understand the passing of the conch, yeah i read the book as well. This song should sum it up. God bless you all...

My words to Revora really:

I've been first and and I've been last
Look at how the time goes past.
But I'm glad to be all alone at last.
Rolling home to you.

Well it started out as a collection of people with common interest. Now it's a collection of friends. Some good, some bad, some crude and rude, and some simply nice people. Let's also not forget Bart and Phil who make sure things keep on going and Banshee (Carlos) who is here the longest of all of us. I actually got to meet him in person in LA, and it was MY pleasure...

The pleasure wasn't only yours ;). I wish I could meet other people from this place in real life.

I haven't been here as long as you two of course, I still remember being the newbie and in some ways still feel it. Can't believe it's been so long since the days of Mastermind, CodeCat, Blaat & Jeeves etc etc. It'll be 9 years for me this February though, IIRC.

I've also been at this forum for almost ten years. I joined in April 2004, just after the merger between Origin and the Guild I believe.

I've had various roles throughout my forum history. From member to moderator to hosting admin to community manager and network leader. I've learned a lot from my work here at the forums. I've learned a lot about how a forum works, the technical side of it (the bbcode, making new subforums, closing topics, even skinning) as well as the social side of it (when do you moderate etc). It's made me be a lot more confident. It's helped me grow, personally, and I've made some friends here. Nowadays I don't speak with many of them, I've drifted apart with most of them but that is okay. It's a chapter of my life that's closed. I have many happy memories of this place, read topics about many different subjects and made a lot of posts too.

The number one way the forum has helped me in my life is that it's where my boyfriend, Mig Eater, and I met. We've known each other just as long as I've been on this forum and we've been together for most of those years .

Leaving Revora (and thereby stepping down from my tasks) was a good decision for me, it was time. This place also holds some less good memories for me, for example when the Revora staff and admins (including me) made a decision and some friends weren't happy with the decision.

It's good to see Revora is doing nicely :). New people have stepped in and are fulfilling roles.

It's hard to believe it's been ten years, but in a way it feels very far away for me. I was a different person back then, a teenager. Where we'll all be in ten years' time? Who knows..

I've also been here for over 10 years. I joined the CNC Guild at least a couple months before the merger.
