Hey guys,

Since today the good old servers stopped working, there are people in the lobby, trying to get to play theyre favourite game. After about a 10 times of trying with different people i turn for help here.

When trying to begin a game in the lobby, the game freezes to "Waiting for probe response" part.

This issue should be sorted out very rapidly, as people come and go to check the new server and nobody stays there, as the server is not starting any games, so I´m afraid they will stop even checking the lobby soon. Imagine having a phone which doesnt work, you would get rid of it.

Have you tried this?

- I have trouble connecting to people online.

Solution: If you own these games through The Ultimate Collection bundle, DOWNLOAD THIS to prevent connection issues to people that don't have The Ultimate Collection.

Solution: If you own the regular editions, you can try opening port 16000 in your router settings. Go here if you don't know how. Use this to check if your port was succesfully opened. Afterwards, find your game's Options.ini (for Generals and Zero Hour these can be found in "username\Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Data", the other games can be found by typing %appdata% in the Windows search bar and opening the game's folder there). Open Options.ini, remove the GameSpyAddress = x.x.x.x line, and add the following:

FirewallBehavior = 1
FirewallNeedToRefresh = FALSE
FirewallPortAllocationDelta = 0
FirewallPortOverride = 16000

Then save Options.ini and set it to read only (right click > properties).

The First Decade is not The Ultimate Collection, so it's part of what we call the regular editions.

Port forwarding doesn't help, I'm actually getting the persistent storage error much more frequently now that I've done it, virtually impossible to type anything in the pre game lobby because it keeps popping up. Any other solutions?

We are working on fixing the persistent storage error. Running the game as administrator seems to fix it for some people, you could try that until we fix it properly.

But the main problem is that the games wont start, not the error popup.

I'm already running as an admin, hasn't helped. But as others have said, the main issue is inability to connect to anyone

Yeah, editing the Options.ini file (and setting it to Read Only after the edit) and opening the port are very important.

Still, going through this process will be impossible for some people. We'll look into a better fix.

I can tell you at this point that i have loaded game twice. No ports forwarded, i never had to do that. But it worked two times so my ports are working?

Did you edit Options.ini? That alone could have done the trick.

And there are now roughly 20-30 angry guys in the lobby screaming "I cant load to anyone"

I concur with Raisu its just a no go for most players like it may even get to the stage where it loads up the game but it freezes and says they are disconnecting

Hi All,

I added CNC Online to my Windows Firewall and played my first game. Not sure if that is what did it or not but I'm encouraged.
