I HAVE READ THE HOW-TO THREAD'

 

According to the common issues and solutions thread, the solution to my problem is this:

"- Upon login, the game says: 'The specified Online ID or account name is already in use'.

Solution: Your nickname has probably been reserved. You need to claim your old nicknames. Activating them takes some time."

 

The problem I am having is that I already did do exactly that, and the reservation was approved: http://forums.revora...ickname-dgfone/

 

So the question is really simple: is there a way to be able to use my old username? I can continue using a new name as I did before the approval finalized (and in this case, also after), but I would rather not, because it's a long way to get back to where I was before.

 

I got both games from the C&C 3 Deluxe Edition. OS version is Windows 7 running on Wine in Linux. This should not be the source of the problem.

When you get the greenlight to have your old nickname back, there's still a delay of some days to apply this change to the server and reassociate your old account information to you, because the administration does not do that in an imminent per-user basis but as a bulk update. IOW, wait a few days and you'll be fine.

Yes, the name was uploaded to the server some time ago, registered to member 16187 (DGFone).   Could you provide the log generated immediately before you attempt the log-in with that name?

Interesting problem: I found the log file, but it's completely empty. I tried both to open it while C&C 3 is running as well as after I close it, and both times, the log file is generated, but is an empty, 0 byte file.
