i´m trying to create a thumbnail image for a orchestra/metal hybrid track.

i played around with some images and thought a crossed guitar & violin would fit.

but since they are so different in desgn it just doesnt look as nice as crossing 2 guitars.

so i thought just placing them next to eachother doesn´t look so bad.

any ideas how i could arrange them to look more badass?

the top of the warlock looks a bit sloopy atm because i rudimentarily removed the bc.rich logo (with a mouse xD)

Violins are way smaller than electric guitars, so why is yours the same size here? That alone confuses the image for me.

I suggest keeping the sizes correct for a start. Don't overlay them; find clear pictures of both stood upright, then place them together on a dark grey background, casting shadows forward, original sizes intact.

i thought it would look better when they are the same size, but you are right. it´s confusing.

maybe the violin is a bad choice, since it´s the smallest of common orchestral string instruments.

i played around with a cello, but the warlock looks like a kid´s toy when standing next to a cello.

i´ll look for a fitting viola image

i dont quite understand the "cast shadows forward" part.

the light is coming from the right-front.

so i guess if i drop shadows they should be on the left, behind of the instruments.

thank you for your reply

Viola are near to the same sizes as a violin. A half size cello or 3/4 size might work better. These are cellos often played by children and people of the smaller statures.

Look up Apocalyptica for inspiration, maybe, ie.

Shredded metal is a texture I'm liking at the moment.
