I don't know, man, it's either gotta be Dawn of War II or Prince of Persia - Warrior Within:

Incredible soundtracks in their entirety, had to pick two of my favourite tracks though.

I think for my personal favorite, I would absolutely pick Blood Dragon.

But... For the general correct answer, in which there is... the best conceived soundtrack in a game has to be Bastion.  "Is it because of that one song?"  It's because of that one song.

And yea, I do like the track "Ezio's Family."  But there' not a surprising amount of other examples from the AC soundtrack legacy that I care for.  The soundtrack works for the game just fine, but not typically outside that much for me.  And yea, FF X had a fantastic track as well.  Dare I say, stereotypical, unfortunately... it's almost as good as FF VII's soundtrack.

Let's be honest, everyone who's played C&C knows Hell March :p I like that FF one, Mathijs. Is the rest of it like that?

But just... I've never had an opportunity to play Halo, but the music... mmm...

The FFX soundtrack is quite diverse. There might be some more piano pieces on there, I haven't listened to the whole thing in years.

It also has this:

If you're going to post a Metal Gear Solid track, at least post a song from anything but the bad game in the series.

Actually... on the topic of Halo... I dunno if I've ever brought this up here before.  Probably.  But one of the greatest songs made for a game was for a Halo trailer.  And by a strange twist of fate, it was for blaady ODST, for dog's sake.

That's a remake of Light of Aidan, which was sort of a dull song.  But that song in the trailer is savagely awesome, and yet, it was never released to the public.  I've checked every year to see if Bungie released the song to that trailer, and they never have.  The greatest tragedy in the gaming music world, I dare say.

Little personal there.  But yea, I was quite disappointed when I played.  It was about 10 billion years ago when I last played it, but to be fair, MGS 1 was longer ago and I remember that game more.  I enjoyed the start of MGS2 in the ship, but the rest of the game as Raiden was tremendously less interesting compared to being bleedin' Solid Snake.  I enjoyed the main cast of villains, maybe with an exception to Solidus Snake, who I expected more from.  But ultimately, The Shell was far less interesting compared to Shadow Mosses.  I won't say it was a bad game, but it was bad for a MGS game.  Much less memorable as well.  Jack is much more interesting as a cyborg.

And to keep up with the MGS theme:
