I followed the installation video but the first time I clicked on the games it said it didn't recognise the cd key or something and now when I try doesn't open and doesn't even say why anymore :L

You probably didn't install the game (whichever one you mean) correctly or you got it from a weird pirate site.

I have it installed correctly as I was playing it through 'steam' before the EA servers went down.  I tried it again and it says 'CA public key patching routine failed'  how do I solve this issue?

Solution: Try setting the launcher to Windows XP compatibility mode.

i a Neanderthal when it comes to computer problems. r u able to tell me how in lamens terms?

Right-click on the C&C:Online launcher shortcut, then hit Properties. Go to the Compatibility Tab, tick the "Run this program in compatibility mode" option and choose Windows XP Service Pack 3 from the drop-down menu. Hit OK and launch the C&C:Online launcher again.

okay thankyou for taking the time for me. I did what u wrote to do and it still has the same issue. it will tell me once about the key routine failing when I try to launch it and it opens the command and conquer square making it look like its going to load but then disappears and doesn't load the game :L
