The patch will be delayed some days, I'm not exactly sure how many. In consolation, I'll present the actual new units for Rohan and Isengard.

Royal Guardsmen

Posted Image

Riding into battle on the best steeds Rohan can offer, the Royal Guardsmen can go toe to toe with any cavalry in the game and win. A specialized formation also lets them disrupt foot troops effectively. They are expensive however, and limited to two units on the field at once. Royal Guardsmen also have the Sons of Eorl passive special ability, which grants them +50% to the effectiveness of any Leadership bonus recieved from a Rohan hero. They are purchased at a Rank 3 Stable, and can receive the Banners upgrade - all the others are inherent.

Door-Wardens of Edoras

Posted Image

Skilled at defence, a second branch of the King's Royal Guard is dedicated to the defence of Rohan's capital. These warriors are strong, having access to two useful abilities - Defenders of Rohan gives them bonuses when near friendly Farms, and Lock Shields gives them bonuses to their already formidable combat capabilties. They can recieve the Banners upgrade, and are purchased at a Rank 3 Archery Range. Like their mounted cousins, only 2 units can be active at once.

You'll just have to wait and see!

Uruk Scouts

Posted Image

The Scouts of Isengard are tough, fast and nasty. Elite troopers, they can switch between short-ranged but deadly bows and swords and shields. Scouts are important as they are now the only Isengard unit that can get Fire Arrows. They also have a much higher attack rate that the sluggish Crossbowmen, so are better on the move. A Rank 3 Uruk Pit is needed to train Scouts. They can purchase Forged Blades, Fire Arrows and Banners. The lack of Heavy Armor makes them better skirmish troops than frontline ones, though they are intrinsically tough.

I really don't do requests and my Arnor Soldier is not fit for BFME. Don't ask me for either.

But this makes 3 units for Rohan then?
Or are the Meduseld Guard just a special form of Royal Guard?

I think the scouts are like the uruk-hai in The Fellowship of the Ring. Small in number, handpicked by Saruman, the best of the best.

Ooh...

I'd have liked the other units better... But yeah, this might get fun too. I think the Meduseld Guards are "slaves" that come at a certain level to protect certain Heroes, like Theoden.

Can we get a render, or a close up shot of them? Hard to get a good idea of the true quality from those shots.

As the crossbowmen don't have access to fire arrows anymore, how are you supposed to kill the Ents in the beginning missions of the evil campaign? :D

I doubt that you can kill Treebeard and all those Ents in the second mission with just laborers...
Well the team will find a solution I hope. :p
Btw do those scouts use the skeleton of Lurtz? If yes, I hope that their attack anim will be edited a bit, otherwise they will have a slow attack rate like Lurtz and headbutt your enemies all the time. :D

You can also use Sarumans Fireball, and I disagree with removing fire arrows from the crossbowmen. But if it will balance things out I guess it wont hurt much.

The campaigns don't work with the mod anyway, so it's not really an issue :p
There may be plans to change the campaigns in the far distant future :D

I for one agree with removing fire arrows from crossbowmen. For those people who want a way to counter the ents, just use the new scouts. This is a great step towards "realism" and "movie accuracy". Remember in TTT it wasn't crossbowben that lit the ent on fire? Besides, wouldn't using fire arrows with a crossbow just light the crossbow on fire :D ? The bolt is resting on it, after all. Unlike a normal bow where you can keep the flaming part away.

All the new units look fantastic! Can't wait to use them.

Crossbows with FA always made me hiss and splutter. The Uruk Crossbows have a new toy anyways to make up for their loss.

If the campaign did work, I'd probably put Scouts in that mission - chronologically they'd be available! I highly support laborer spam though :). I would inisist on screenshots!
