EDIT: Sorry about that, i didnt understand you properly.. anyway, the way i did it was to go into data\movies, and delete these ones:
EALogo.vp6
intel.vp6
NewLineLogo.vp6
THX.vp6
Thats all the advertising ones, but i cant find the one that has the last alliance battle at the beginning..
This way does work, and it lets you still play on the internet, but i think there is a way you can do it using gamedata.ini, but ive not looked.

Video EALogoMovie Filename = NoEALogo; EA_temp_sfx_vj ; Comment = "This is the EA logo screen" End Video EALogoMovie640 Filename = NoEALogo; EA_temp_sfx_vj ; Comment = "This is the EA logo screen" End Video NewLineMovie Filename = NoNewLineLogo Comment = "NewLine company logo" End Video IntelLogo Filename = NoIntel Comment = "Intel logo movie" End Video THXLogo Filename = NoTHX Comment = "THX Logo movie" End
or this in the video.ini. There are different ways to do it.

If you want to get rid of the battle it is the biggest movie in the data\movies folder.
that battle is awesome, i watch it almost every time, just amazed

i dont think that typing PlayIntro = No is easier but they bought the game with thier money so its thier choice.

The reason why you would want to know both methods is by deleting the movies, you've solved it for yourself without modding the game really.
Why you would want to use the gamedata.ini method is in case you want to put it in your mod and let people use the mod who may not know about simply deleting the movies or never thought of it.

well, i dont delete them, i just put an 'a' at the beginning of its name.. thought deleting them was easier to explain.. and i agree Hostile.
well thanks for the reply guys i just deleted the video.ini entries. I only use it for modding as it just saves a lot of time

Its been 2 days since i started modding BFME, I got boromir to use blade master (the effect is in the attributemodifer.ini i think) and faramir to summon two hordes of rangers but i just need some help in tweaking abilities.

most of the effects are in attributemodifier.ini, although some, like elendil are hardcoded (i think)
aww well that sucks, i thought there might be something in gamedata.ini
I guess most of the generals logic is disabled right or heavily modified?
