Realistic upgrade

You should give the USA Airforce general a new plane that follows the idea of teh JSF (Joint Strike Fighter). Instead of making one Air Superiority Figher and one Attack plane, it would be cool to have one plane that could do both, much like modern jet fighers. It could be fashioned so that the jet carries two kinds of ammunition (6 ground attack, 6 AA ones). These could be through upgrades or however. But the plane would need to use teh AA ones when it attacked an airbourne unit and the ground ones when it attacked the ground.
If it worked, you could make it that upgrades give the fighter more kinds of ammo. it could have Regular HE ground attack, AA heat seekers, Bunker busters, incindiary. Just along the idea of giving it more ammo. It would be cool.
Another idea is to give some unites Willie Pete rounds. They could be dropped form planes, launched from artillery or infantry, but they could either burn out infantry, or be used as illumination. It would give away stealthed units in a given area for a certain amount of time.
Again, I don't know if its possible, but I just though they would be sick additions to the game!

A wise man chooses death before war, A wiser man chooses not to become war.

Everyone should watch this and pass it on as its a very good argument on the subject of Global Warming.

upgrades can be done, but they have to be 1 way, 1 time. such as build a Raptor, then have Dedicated ground, or dedicated air upgrades. there is still a watch with this, if the upgrade finishes while its in the air with no ammo, it doesn't need to land.
It would be very nice to make planes that are much more realistic, but for the time being the engine limits us greatly.
Between now and the next polished release there should be very little new art work done. Instead the focus is on designing, testing, and fixing. the mod has always been so close to finished that its nearly criminal. I'd love to see this through to the end with a real community effort.

What about the Willie pete? That's pretty gnarly!

Yeah, I guess if the engine cannot support it then it's not worth it.

its posible... and worth looking at. I might use it, or something similare. For me a Flare is the top of the list to reviel hidded troops.

Air Force:
The roles of the two planes are backwards here; the Raptor is actually the air superiority and the JSF is the multi-role. Here's a thought: Make the Raptor's rockets very inaccurate against ground targets but the best way to kill aircraft, and the JSF can fill both roles but isn't as good against air.
To make up for it, maybe the JSF could have lots more ammo and hovering abilities. If hovering isn't going to happen, the ammo upgrade could still keep it there longer.

Yeah, about the WP, you could make it like teh flashbang and instead of doing teh FB thing, it explodes in midair like a flair and also causes minimal damage to infantry (because WP only burns flesh, not even clothes). just an idea...
