Falklands war

I'm sorry if I'm a bit late saying this.
This is responding to what Spencer said in his original country bashing thread.
We didn't go into the Fawlklands war just to kick some Argentinian ass. They invaded the island, which is part of the United Kingdom, the people there are British, speak English, heck they even drive on the left! They invade one of our islands and you except us to do nothing?
So, let's say Russia decides to move it's armies into Alaska, just because they want more room for Russian people to live in, do you really think the US is just gonna do nothing about that?

Honest opinion is I don't think Bush will get reelected, but the next president will do the same. Then you will all be Kerry bashing. Makes no differance who the mascot it. The rest of the world will be critical.

Im entitled to say the Falklands War is entirely justified. Argentina -under military rule, not democracy- invaded. Argentina militarized the islands and gave UK a reason to hit back. Argentina bought weapons from the US 6 months before this -which US kindly sold ¬_¬). Entirely the fault of our military.

Its understandable since, Falklands is dependant on UK. But lets rephrase what Hostile said, Iraq was not USA dependant, hence the right to invade is unexistant, since the ground didnt belong to America anytime. Lets try not to confuse what interests are involved. Were talking about a counterstrike when we mention Falklands. But were talking about defensive invasion when we say Iraq.

As for the first Gulf War, i dont disagree with it, except that if Saddam was really a threat -which he had prooved to be- he should have been removed by then and not now.

The reason the first Gulf War happened was Saddam invaded Kuwait. Again, it was a counterstrike, as the US and GB had alliances with Kuwait and had to act. The Coalition's objective in Gulf War 1 was to remove Saddam from Kuwait and make sure he doesn't invade again, not from power in Iraq. That was saved for Gulf War 2...

You should get your facts straight, crack wasn't available till the early 80's. I'm 1st generation german and speak to my family there. Things aren't as rosie as you make them sound.

Bush didn't screw up the economy. It has natural cyles that presidents love to capitlize on when they are good and play off when they are bad. Bush never said he went to Vietnam, where did you get this info?

Your reference to right wing people, well you sound very left to me. You make it sound like Bush single handedly changed things. Let's note, executive branch does not make laws they enforce them. Congress here makes laws. And the congress has been mostly left for the last 50 years. CHECK your facts before you speak.

We (amercians) are supposed to just listen to critism. Than sit idle with no words to respond. I find that very biased. I find words thrown around that demean us than when we respond we are considered irrational.

it is something, that is attached to a "superpower" nation, I'll have no doubt that everyone thought communists were dicatorships that only strived for power but this didn't apply to all MEMBERS.

Your gonna get criticised if you push your military muscle about and ignore UN backing, its something that happens. If anything america seem a lot more aggressive now, it used to be sit back and quietly support most of the time but with 9/11 and what not you gone really defensive.

MSpencer people can sometimes find you really egostical or too proud, u have a vast array of knowledge of modern warfare but sometime you act like a elitist noob.
