These are very hard to come by. I've played Mooman's rules, but are there any other good, complete mods out there for regular RA2, not Yuri's Revenge? I've searched Moddb, here, and any other place I know of, but perhaps there's mod's I've skimmed past or in places I don't know about. And by good mod, I mean something that isn't just the result of a long night of screwing around with ini files, adding in random crap with little thought. Any suggestions for mods or places to look for them will be appreciated.

I don't think there is. Everyone mods YR because it has a lot of nice, and sometimes important basic features (such as choosing your your alliance before starting a game). Not all YR mods include Yuri, so if that's the dynamic you want to avoid there are options, but they for sure do use the YR engine.

That's not it, at least not the mind control part.

 

Sinc ethere don't seem to be any good RA2 mods, what about YR with pre-YR tech? By that I mean soviets still have mind control, cloning vats, etc. And what about Psicorps as a soviet subfaction? I know that one mod (RA2 reborn I think it's called) that has that, but that one's too intense. Lowest difficulty is like vanilla brutal x2.

Well... ahem. My own mod does that, but it also changes the unit list more drastically.
