Hi, I just finished my work (for now) on a script for 3dsMax that is capable of exporting a 3D model into a Commandos 2 ABI file.

So far I only converted the first free model of a vehicle that I found on the Internet (credits to StepanProkop).

Tanks are a bit more complicated than cars because all the wheels, the turret, the cannon and the entry hatch must be seperate objects and each object has to be connected to a bone. In addition there's a parent-child relationship between the bones which also needs to be converted to the ABI file structure.

I already repacked an existing model from the game but because of the wrong bone hierarchy, sometimes this happened:

Ok, now the bone hierarchy seems to be correct.

With this you can also convert or create new weapons animations??

The matID of the wheels in H2.max is set to the wrong value (2 instead of 1).

The script works correctly if the matID of a face matches the ID of the sub-material.

Since there are no motorcycles in C2 there are also no proper character animations. Furthermore there are keywords in the C3 scripts which the C2.EXE can't handle (e.g. ComporSidecar & .TIPO SIDECAR).

 

But we can export the motorcycle as a fake car with four wheels. Of course the machine gun won't work and the seat positions as well as the bounding box still need to be adjusted. Here's the first result of the conversion: Attached File  SIDECAR_C2.zip   114.54KB   287 downloads

Yeah, really good work. Im very insterested in import the assault vehicle of comm3: storm the beach. I dont care if is a fake car or something, I only want add some of them in a beach for decoration, can you help me?

You'll probably have to adjust the MIS script and create an ANI file for it.

Very good, you really work so fast, have you seen something like flying plane in c2?? You can try to do that??
