In the future we might restrict login names to only contain letters, numbers, dashes and underscores, without every changing them again. This way we can use them in URL's, like http://files.revora....igi_byte/images

That's a good idea, But would there be an issue with users having the same name?
Only the other users name is in caps, Not all hosting services support capital letters, I know my web hosting doesn't any way, this might or might not effect url links.

Well, I don't really care either way, but most of the time (on all the interweb) {XXX} in your username means you're part of a group/clan/whatever called/abbreviated XXX
