Gangsters Organized Crime is only partly an RTS, mostly planning (or looking at a city's map). Plus it looks like the game Heist i.e. it looks like dogshit.
Korea: Forgotten Conflict, like mentioned on prev. page, is very good.

What about:A little big adventure
The creator of Shadow Tactics Blade of the Shogun also was inspired by it.

@andrewT
You can add Frigato: Shadows of the Caribbean -
Also, I think to some degree Men of War series are kinda similar. Starting from Soldiers: Heroes of World War II onwards - I love this game. I hate that last games from that series focused mostly on multiplayer and campaign missions were mostly just taking control over certain parts of the map :(

@Felo: Thanks for mentioning Frigato, I didn't know it even existed. Tried out the demo on Steam, I can't say that I'm impressed, but being only in early access stage, it has the chance to improve. Soldiers Heroes of WW2 / Faces of War / Men of War are very close to my heart as well, and when I have to describe them to those that do not know, I usually say they are the lovechild of the Commandos and Blitzkrieg series. Belong to both of them and neither of them at the same time, something really unique. Maybe it would be a good idea to have a checklist specifying the mandatory attributes these kind of games have, like "bird's eye view", "real time", "stealth tactics" and many more.

@AndrewT,
Yeah, Frigato does look rough for the time being. We will see how it turns out in the end.
As for Men of War series, personally i love the most the first one - Soldiers. I think it is the closest to Commandos. Later games gave way more automation for the troops, as I recall.
Overall we all should be glad that the RTT genre is making a comeback for the last few years and we got some really great games.

I searched for "Outfront" after reading this, remembering that name from a forum. SHoWW2 is AKA "Outfront 1" apparently, see this:

Also Outfront 2 and 3 are mentioned there. Have you ever come across those? I have the one called Silent Heroes, not sure where it fits in that time line. But it's great.
