Soldiers Heroes of WW2 / Faces of War / Men of War are very close to my heart as well, ...

 

I searched for "Outfront" after reading this, remembering that name from a forum. SHoWW2 is AKA "Outfront 1" apparently, see this:

Also Outfront 2 and 3 are mentioned there. Have you ever come across those? I have the one called Silent Heroes, not sure where it fits in that time line. But it's great.

 

I remember reading about it. According to wikipedia ( https://en.wikipedia...of_World_War_II )There were 3 standalone expansion packs for Soldiers, Outfront 1, 2 and 3. But they were never released outside Eastern Europe, or maybe just Russia. I am from Poland and from what I recall they released Outfront 1 here, but not 2 and 3.

These were completely different games to the Faces of Wars which is a proper sequel. I think i played Outfront 1, but not the later ones.

Sorry, i might have not explained it clearly. What I mean is that these "Outfronts 1-3" were standalone expansions to Soldiers and not a proper sequel like Faces of War is. Alos I think Faces of War was called "Outfront" in some countries but I am not sure...

So how it stands is:

 

Soldiers - 1st game. (released in 2004)

Outfront 1 - standalone expansion for Soldiers. (released in 2005)

Outfront 2 - standalone expansion for Soldiers released only in Eastern Europe (released in 2006)

Outfront 3 - standalone expansion for Soldiers released only in Eastern Europe (released in 2008 )

 

Faces of War - proper sequel to Soldiers (released 2006) - I think it was called Outfront in some countries but I am not certain...)

Faces of War: Brothers in arms - standalone expansion to Faces of War (released in 2007)

@ Jack O'Hara Thank you for these, Roma Incognita seems really a commandos-like, most of the others look like more action-oriented. Of those I played Gone Rogue during the springtime Steam NextFest, it's also towards action with the directly controlled sole character, quite promising, but slightly different I think.

OMG https://store.steamp...mandos_Origins/ still has a  "Planned Release Date: 2024". I wonder if we'll see it....at any point.

Any1 played Commandos Origins demo? It is quite short but it does give an idea of gameplay.
The result for me it that it is a clone of Mimimi games. I think it is gonna be a good game, but not a commandos for me. C2 is still a king.
