This happens when you insert the new game.dat before patch 1.06. I've seen people asking about it on old online forums with no answer.

The fix:

- Install Patch 1.06, then copy the game.dat over again

I had the same problem, but I made it work today. First, download the Options.ini file and then do the following:  

  

- press Windows Key + R

 

- type   "appdata"

 

- click "OK"

 

- open the folder called "Roaming"

 

- open the folder called "My Battle for Middle-earth Files", and then put the Options.ini file into it. 

 

Then install 1.03 and afterwards 1.06 install should work.

on BFME 2 i had the 3m defeat incident, i tried the fix but by game doesnt run anymore, any tips plz?




on ROTWK, my game doesnt go into the main menu, it stays in a black screen after the initial cutscene

Still the same error. I made it work installing all patches (1.03, 1.05 and 1.06) from other sites

So i have managed to get three of my friends to successfully download the game and play online with me. One of my friends did all the steps but his game would run for a few seconds then crash without error. Looking further into the troubleshooting, I see he has Intel HD family graphic drivers. I see in the troubleshooting section it says "For computers with NVIDIA and Intel: The game will not open on an Intel Integrated graphics card, so use the NVIDIA graphics card'. IS their any way to switch to a compatable nivida graphics driver online or does he need to go and buy a  nivida gpu for his laptop?

Trying to get BfME II working.

 

I have downloaded the game, but I cannot seem to find the tBfMe_II.iso in my folder. Is this under a different file name now?

Hi there. I wanted to install the BFME games but I wasn't sure if it would be okay for my pc if I did that. You see, I have a laptop which did not come with a disk tray, like most laptops do. Would it still be okay for me to install BFME onto my computer or no?

Hi i played BFME1 and 2 growing up and just got my old games out of storage sadly the disc was missing from BFME 2... I couldn't believe it when i found out there is a way to still play online and the update in HD look amazing..  I have been trying to install  --URL::d1822fc4c61467adf0cd029bef711afd-- Patch 1.06 all-in-one installer

But when going to install and it goes to download the patch it says no connection to internet. i removed my firewall still didn't work.. have the servers gone down? can anyone help please.. its for BFME 1...

i fixed this as nobody got back to me.. Looking like no one plays anymore.. hopefully i am wrong before uninstall..
