And I'm a happy Norwegian that doesn't worry too much about what Americans do to themselves. More worried about what they do to others. Doesn't mean I wish for them to be given the wrong medicine for a problem we know better solutions to.

 

My biggest worry is that I'll die old in a world that could have moved so much further if people had common sense. I'd like the opportunity to travel to Mars for a vacation before I die. I'd liked the opportunity to be digitized and live forever, too, but that seems remote today. Hopefully medicine can give us longer lifespans, but that won't do us much good if we can't make economic models that improves lives for all.

I know for several reasons why Trump wins:

1) The tension between US and Russia. There won't be World War III or another Cold War as long as Putin/Russia supports Trump and they are on friendly terms. The US still relies on Russia to send people to the International Space Station since Russia still use shuttles. Not sure about the response in the Middle East and North Korea.

2) Homeland security and immigration policies. This is a huge one that will affect the way minorities live. Some people really wanted that to happen, including building a wall between US and Mexico. In addition to illegal immigrants, possible radicalized terrorists in the US will also be a challenge to Trump. Nothing was ever accomplished by the Obama administration.

3) The economy. I am pretty sure Trump will do better in this but the future is uncertain. I hope he'll repeal Obamacare and lessen Uncle Sam's debt. Besides I don't like big company mergers such as AT&T merging with Time Warner. It already happened with Time Warner Cable bought by Charter. Trump will definitely want that to happen.

4) The white men who thought they are smart to outwit women and minorities -- still holds true today.

 

Others are uncertain:

1) How many more women will accuse Trump of sexual harassment issues? How many more uncomfortable women will Trump embarrass?

2) What would Trump do if he sues Clinton on the email scandals?

3) How would he might save US Social Security and Postal Service from possible bankruptcy?

4) What does Trump know about handling new technology?

5) Will there be a civil war II?

6) I predict gas prices in California to be leveled with Hong Kong soon, you know... the average price of $8 a gallon year-round => instant bankruptcy

Trump will be devastating for the economy if he goes through with his tax plan, which is worse than George Bush's, which helped lead to the 2008 financial crash. I don't know an example of where tax cuts help an economy grow. Literally, you've been having consistent tax cuts since the 50s, where it was over 90% tax at the top bracket, and things haven't gotten better. Trickledown does not work, this is Clinton's policy too. And the wall thing is just a joke surely. Mexico won't pay for it, he probably won't even build it or let alone finish it. Already the US-Mexican border is one of the most fortified places on earth. A wall isn't gonna do anything extra.

I voted for Trump. I'm glad he won. Hillary was a warhawk neoconservative who had a hand in removing Gadaffi in Libya and wants to remove Assad. I liked Gadaffi and I like Assad. I also like Putin and Russia, and Trump wants to amend relations and work with Russia. He also criticized the Saudi influence on our government, the bombing of Serbia (which the Clintons had a hand in), and disastrous anti-white multicultural policies in Europe. Whilst I dislike Trump's environmental views and am skeptical of him on economics, weighing all the pluses and minuses, I'm damn glad we finally smashed neoconservatism this election. I'm happy with the outcome, at least out of sheer pragmatism.

I'd vote for Duke over any neoconservative globalist. He's moderated a lot and takes a stand against anti-white propaganda.

Uhh, yes. That's exactly what neo-liberalism is, started with Thatcher and Reagan. The idea that you cut public investment, rely on private wealthy people to invest in development and start businesses that pay people, rather than anyone making money themselves, and cut unions or any chance of the workers having any power. That's why quantitative easing was used, they take public money and put it into the wealthiest people's pockets in the hope that they will start loads of businesses and get things going: but that doesn't work. It stays in bank accounts because the wealthiest people literally can't spend all the money they have and make. It's why the US has an effective corporate tax rate of around 20%, incredibly low. It's why situations like the Dakota Access Pipeline occur, because ordinary people are considered expendible.

I mean, I thought that was a big thing people hated about Clinton. That she's a (and so are most Democrats) Republicans in disguise, because of these policies. But to think Trump is any different is crazy when he's exactly the person who benefits from neo-liberalism, and he's ramping it up with his tax cuts and further deregulation.

Voting for Trump might be considered anti-establishment, but yeah, you certainly ain't getting away from "neoconservatism" / neoliberalism, especially since he's going to be working for thousands of republicans.

 

The only thing that's happened is that the side with a moderate chance at fixing things now is put on the backburner and will be radicalized more. And then the conventional Republicans will be even more fearful for their future when the next election comes.

 

I actually hope California continues with their secession work, as that might keep a republican government busy with domestic issues for most of the first half of Trump's period.

His career did start from a large lone given to him by his father, but he turned that million into the New York City skyline and hundreds of iconic feats of architecture that will immortalize his name for the upcoming millenniums (a slot in the presidential compendium being an added bonus).  If that is not the ultimate goal of being a big-business miser, then I dunno what is.  Cheating with console commands or not, he's accomplished more than any economist I can think of in recent times.
