So my friend isn't tech savvy, so I tried to help him. He shared his screen and I told him exactly what to do. I've followed everything step by step (I think) and I did get it to work for me, so i'm not entirely sure why it doesn't work for him, but the problem is:

He clicks on ''Launch BFME2'' in the splash, then he'll see the loading screen for maybe a second (from bfme2), it disappears, you see the little loading icon next to his mouse and once that disappears, nothing. No error of any kind.

Things i've got him to do:

Run as administrator
Run with compability mode
Install DirectX (the older one)
Reinstall the game and follow step by step what to do
Added options.ini with the right options
Added ''Maps'' folder
Patched

Has the right images in the right programs

It simply won't give an error and i'm currently clueless as to what it can be.

Anyone has any ideas on what he could do or what the problem could be?

Which patches did you install?

Are you using mini images?

What is in the launcher logfile .txt in %TMP%?

Double check the options.ini

"To know what question we may reasonably propose is in itself a strong evidence of sagacity or intelligence. For if a question be in itself incongruous and begs for uncalled-for answers, it holds, sometimes, besides embarrassing the proposer, the disadvantage to seduce the unguarded listener into giving absurd answers, and we are presented with the ridiculous spectacle of one (as the ancients said) milking the he-goat, and the other holding a sieve beneath."

He installed patch 1.06 and afterwards 1.08. The base game was 1.00 when installed.

Yes, using mini images. It isn't giving a no CD error, so I assume this is working as it should.

Where do I find the launcher logfile .txt?

And options.ini is as it should be, made him double check, looks good. It's the following:

 AudioLOD = High
FlashTutorial = 0
HasSeenLogoMovies = yes
IdealStaticGameLOD = High
Resolution = 1920 1080
StaticGameLOD = UltraHigh
TimesInGame = 8

Is the options.ini an ini file or options.ini.txt?

Did you try to uninstall the launcher, see if the game works and install the launcher again?

You go to windows - software - uninstall software --> https://support.micr...n-us/kb/2601726
