say like, perhaps, from early on characters were planned differently. Then left like that in spanish translation? Controversial stuff..

I found that there are different versions of the english manual.

The above cited english manual was from gog/steam. Today I get my "Commandos complete" dvd, and I found that it have more quality manuals and it have the fixed names:

Commandos names from english manuals from "Commandos complete":

Green Beret: Sergeant Jack “Butcher” O’Hara.

Driver: Samuel “Brooklyn”.

Marine: James Blackwood A.K.A. “Fins”.

Sapper: Thomas Hancock A.K.A. “Fireman”.

Sniper: Sir Francis T. Woolridge alias “Duke”.

Spy: Rene Duchamp A.K.A. “Frenchy”.

Paul Toledo “Lupin”.

Whiskey.

Dutch contact: Natasha Van de Zand A.K.A “Lips”.

Natasha Nikochevski “The seductress”

(Are the same Natasha accordingly to the bio info.)

Yugoslav Partisan: Dragisa Skopje.

About the driver, the most complete info about it is found in BTCOD manual:

He says his name is Sam, and not much is known about his background. In 1937, after a long criminal career in the
United States ... We will probably never know his real name, but then... who cares?

I think the nicknames were changed in the US release, in the UK release (of Comm1 anyway) they have those nicknames.
