I was thinking that you could use the DoW resource system.

You could use Oil Derriks (or whatever you thin is better) as Critical points to be captured.

They will produce money overtime...making the game more fast paced like DoW

So, what are your plans?

Err... have you actually played the mod?

OW isn't a carbon-copy of DoW anyhow, so just because DoW has a feature that OW doesn't, it won't automatically mean that the team will want to add it.
And I think it is safe to say that most (all?) of the team has DoW (or at least has played it). :sad:

Yes we've played it, and DoW is really small scale in comparison to Only War,
which means there'd be millions of those points to capture.. which is why we dont think that'd be a good system.. Besides we'd not want to steal/borrow anything from DoW as that'd be against the GW policies etc. etc. and could have this mod destroyed before you can say Tyranid-flesh-pie..

I agree. Besides, whats better than laughing at your enemy as you seize their income source, then holding fast against their counter-attack as their army crumbles before you?

Also spoke with Inquisitor Ball about the matter; he's into DOW stuff alot and all he could tell was that the DOW resource system is screwed, allows baserushing all too easy...

I concur.... :ninja: Dead Eldar anyone?
Damn I love that game! 4 tac squads, 4 dev squads, 2 assault squads and characters really do spell out OwNaGe, that and when theyre supported by preds and dreadies :p

Counter rushing is quite a cool tactic too, in a 2v2 or more. My mate was being attacked by 2 other players at the same time, and we put destroy hq on. So I had my large group of marines now with 4 missile launchers per squad, and ran them into one of their bases. BANG one dead Hq, one dead player and one whole army disappears :ninja:

Eldar turret rushing is fun. Teleporting tons of bone singers into their base at the start and then building their cool hover turrets, and then PWNAGE.
