Do you think that the governmet has the right to ban GTA games and others that deal with sexual sceens? I am posting this because I found this out on Monday at gamespot forum and seems to me a big thing but I still haven't seen the sexual sceen on GTA:SA to know how bad it is but the gov't seems that it is really bad and they need to be ban. So what do you think.

No, they shouldn't be banning shit. Period. Nothing is ever worth banning.

Besides, I don't think it was even banned but taken off the shelves to be remarketed as an AO game.

If they do so, they should ban ALL pron first. Since they won't, I don't think they should ban San Andreas (I haven't played or seen it btw, so I don't know how exactly it looks).
What's AO exactly?

They souldnt band it.. esspecially since it need a programm to unlock hidden code, which means breaking the agreement you make before installing.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Depends. It's okay to have sex with your partner, it's also okay to shoot a gun at a shooting range. However, it isn't legal to have sex with an infant, or to shoot a gun at a person.

The Hot Coffee mod is a small mod that's somewhere hidden in SA's code, but it can be enabled. It allows you to play some sexual minigame when your date asks you in for 'coffee'. AFAIK.

a modder has made a mod for sexual scenes like a mini game in it , witch tbh is pointless, but its stupid to just ban everything, they will end up banning Games Fullstop before we know it

Wasn't by a modder, it was actually included in the game. Just disabled, but all the code was there.

Figured I might as well comment here.
As far as I see it, the fact is that Rockstar removed it from the game. Yes, it was hidden in the code but they decided they didn't want it to be part of the final game so they locked it out. As such they haven't been selling a game with sex scenes in it.
Or to put it another way, I can download a thousand mods that'll make game characters run around in the nud. Should that be taken into accoutn when deciding a game rating? Heck no. It's not like there's anyone telling me I have to download said patches, is there? Hence I don't downlaod them. Double standards is what it is. Sex is totally natural, yet it's considered to be unsuitable to appear in games. Killing people with man-made weapons is unnatural and ilegal but it can get into a game considered suitable for kids?

Yes that is true. So I am think that they should make a gamming linecens to be able to buy these games that a rated for 18's and up because I am thinking the gov't is only doing this is for child safty.

It depends where you try to buy the game I guess. For instance, since the rather unfortunate incident with manhunt being blamed for the murder of a kid who'd been playing it, which I still don't understand, it's now very difficult to go buy games with an age rating. As in, I go into GAME and try to buy Time Splitters: Future perfect. I have to hand over my NUS card, my Scottish Fencing membership and my student card to prove I was over 15. As opposed to I can go into a shop with "we don't sell glue to under 16s" written in big letters on the wall and just buy the stuff, no questions asked. I can buy stuff with age ratings anywhere else so its not like I even look under 15 for goodness sake!

But yeah, a license sounds like a good idea. Sort out all the problems.

It's an excuse, they've long seen GTA as one of those "violence inducing" games, and they get a chance to "keep the kids safe", now, who cares what method it is, the result is there. Good job, idiots.
