T3h Bumpz.

This is my rig. It's about 4/5 months old. If you remember, I got it right before I was offline for a fornight.

The tower and the speakers are that old. The monitor's just shy of a year old, now, and the printer's (bottom left) about the same. The scanner (bottom right) is about 3 years old, as is the mouse. They're the only remnants of my old Packard Bell PC.

Next to my desk-lamp is a small directional microphone. The oldest thing connected to my PC. It's about 11 years old, originally coming from an old Windows 3.11 PC. It still works like a charm.

My desk is a lot neater than my room, I can tell you. On the desk is half a pack of CD-R discs, my mobile phone, an analogue alarm clock that is broken, and a digital alarm clock which has no alarm, but tells the time. it's 10 minutes fast.

The ladder to the right of the pic leads up to my bed. The metal girder on the left is an arm-rest of a chair.

And if you're wondering why the wall changes colour oddly, it's because a radiator used to be there, and we never got around to painting it over

This is what my PC looks like most of the time with my Windows problems and crap.

This is the room and stuff that its in.

The monitor's about 3 years, same as my box.

The Officejet printer, next to the monitor is about a year old. Very nice, prints fast, and prints front and back. Nice.

Next to the printer, out of the picture, is a HP Photosmart 1315. Prints slow, but high quality pictures.

In between the Officejet and monitor is a 12 hour old external hard drive. It has nothing on it as of yet, but has a formatted capacity of 149GB. 5 times that of my internal hard drive.

Old speakers, old Logitech mouse. Assorted Hershy kiss wrappers. Post-It notes, and others.

Way on the right you can see a wireless G Linksys router. It runs at 2.4 GHz, 540 Mbps. That powers my laptop, my desktop, and my server. The desktop and server are both hard-wired to the router, to decrease lag.

That's about it. Next comes my "server room". That's a fun room to look at.

The not quite newest version of my desktop.

A newer version of my desktop. I'll have to see if I have a picture of my laptop desk somewhere, as that's got its own space now.

Well, when it comes to writing an expository essay about counter-insurgent tactics, I'm of the old school. First you tell them how you're going to kill them. Then you kill them. Then you tell them how you just killed them.

In the linked directory with pictures you can see the latest setup, where the server and the PC on top of it share the keyboard and mouse on the desk, and the right hand LCD through a KVM switch. Really damn handy device that is.

Nice. I saw the 12 sockets on the power supply and most Dells have that.

I believe that's because it's an EPS 12V (I think) motherboard and power supply.

The current state of my server

Layout of the server area

Gutted server

Random install disks, etc

Power supply, CD-ROM drive, and floppy drive of an old comp
Posted Image
PHP for Dummies, and a drawer full of random painball gun parts. A network card is in the picture too.
Posted Image
A Linux book and a network card. The big black thing you see on the right is something that directs the air to the motherboard. Never seen it in any other computer. Odd really.
Posted Image
This is the original motherboard that came with the PC. An HP Vectra VL with a Pentium III 550MHz
Posted Image
The board I bought off of eBay. Freaking Dell board. Sucks. Bad. And yes, that is a stuffed camel it is currently sitting on.

How can you sit before the computer when it's on the floor, or is that just temporary?
