As is stated, i dl your great mod (played it before), but when i installed it then clicked the generals icon it freezes. It freezes right when the small screen that says "Generals" appears. Any ideas? What version do i need to play?

That's unusual; the mod should run fine with the latest patch (1.8). It may be however a hardware related issue - have you changed anything in your computer, or are you using a different computer to before?
Additionally, check if there is an error report - this will be in your My Documents/Epic Generals Data folder, and is called ReleaseCrashInfo.txt . - If you have one of those, please post it up here so that I can identify the issue if need be.
Until then, I recommend uninstalling generals, and deleting all data in the installation directory. Then reinstall a fresh copy of generals and the mod.
Hope it helps,
Ambershee
Edit: I've now tested the compatibilty with 1.8 - it works just fine. It does take a little longer to boot first time round, but you shouldn't be having any real problems.

Alright i will post an error report when i get to check that computer again. I used it with version 1.03 before and it was fine. I dl all the updates and tried them all with your mod. All the way from 1.02-1.08, non worked. I don't see how the hardware requirements would be different than playing generals. It works with other mods. Please do not take this as negative criticism, i really enjoyed your mod and REALLY miss it.

The hardware requirements for Epic Gen are slightly higher than that of other mods, mostly due to the increased necessity for poly-pushing and particle effect abuse; more ram and processing power is generally advised, although I don't think it would necessarily cause the game to crash out before it has even started. Additionally, I am referring to patch 1.8, not 1.08 !
If you can, you can also e-mail me a DirectX Diagnostic to ambershee AT gmail DOT com. You can do this by hitting start --> run --> type dxidag into the box. You should be able to save the output as a text file.
Hope to get this resolved quickly.

Problem fixed, well i guess it was never a problem to begin with. For some reason when it first boots the game, it says "Not responding" in the system manager for about 30 secs, then continues normaly. I was just not used to the slow down with my new computer. Athlon 64 X2 3800, 1 gig of ram, a PNY 7800 GT, there is't much that can slow it down, although this mod seems to do the trick! LOL, if i play with 7 opponets oh brutal after about 5 min the game slows to almost a crawl. Then when i shut down i check the system manager just to see how the processor was doin, one core was peaked out and the other was about 70%. All i have to say is wow, the battles when playing like that are amazing, good job with this mod!

BTW i was wondering what sytems you guys use when you test this game, anything more than 2 opponets and my system slows down.

The real issue with the speed is actually a windows issue - it won't allow Generals to use more than a certain amount of memory. The mod was never really designed for more than three or four players; but you know that's certainly not going to stop anyone from trying more!
I'm currently working on a patch to help improve performance, and also a ZH version. I don't know however when these will be available. These will also readdress the balancing entirely, placing less focus on certain core units and also more focus on building bases.
It's good to hear that you're up and running again.
The mod itself was built and tested on a workstation with the following spec;
2 x Pentium 4 3.6Ghz HT (seperate processors, not dual)
4Gb DDR4800 Ram
Dual GeForce 6600 Slis
