There was some fuzz about hero units, and I'm just wandering if there will be any :)

Here are some of my suggestions: (If there will be hero units)
Abaddon the despoiler
Ahriman of the thousand sons
Cypher
Kharn the betrayer
Fabius bile
Lord Commander Solar Macharius
Commissar Yarrick

now Lord Commander Solar Macharius I think would be an excellent special character, he has virtually the best name I've seen in a 40k character, and the model I saw of him just fucking pwned (solid gold armour suit). Not only this, but he led a massive galaxy wide planet conquering crusade, and that's EXACTLY what you do in EAW. he and this game are made for each other :)

we could do something like this:



Abaddon the despoiler (leader hero, adds bonuses and flies the planet killer in space and on land is a close combat killing machine :p)

Tzeentch Greater Demon (Tzeentch himself is like a god and sorta stuck in the warp... greater demons are damn dangerous enough anyway)



Imperial guard are more numerous and it makes sense to give them more heroes, not only this, but most Imperial heroes are Imperial Guard commanders.
Lord Commander Solar Macharius (space hero mainly, commands a battleship in space (retribution or emperor) and on land is a bit like a field commander, not a good combat unit but just adds bonuses)

Comissar Yarrick (lethal in close combat, unlike many guard units and makes nearby guard impossible to kill with ability (force protect))

Colonel-Commissar Gaunt + a squad of ghosts (possibly) (boomer will have ideas :lol: )



Marneus Calgar (leader hero, reduces costs, and adds enhancements)

Emperors Champion (cc anti-hero specialist (using the hero encounter things it can be made so the champion wins almost all the time), enhances damage of marines on the battlefield.)



The Deceiver (numerous effects applied to both the enemy and player, and has special abilities that mess around with enemy units, could use palpatines permanant damage thing that slowly kills the enemy a bit, but increase the radius)

The Nightbringer (basically an insanely dangerous cc unit.)




I was thinking that if we do use heroes, they should be exceptionally expensive to warrant their use only when the player can really afford it. For example, macharius will be very dangerous in space, because he's in a battleship. Therefore his cost will be at least that of the battleship, plus several thousand more.

Well I did come up with some ideas a while ago :)

Abbadon - Space/land
Tzeentch - Land


Lord Solar Macharius - Space/Land
Yarrick - Land
Gaunt - Land
Wing Commander DeVoltoro - Space - Commands a flight of specially modified marauders


Calgar - Space/Land (commands uber Battle Barge in space)
Lord Admiral Tiberius - Space - Commands the Vae Victus Strike Cruiser
Eperors Champion - Land


The Nightbringer - Space/Land
The Deciever - Space/Land

looks good to me, except I'd make the nightbringer only a land hero, and the deciever have loads of really nasty effects in space, since the deciever decieves the enemy :)

I'm guessing more hero units can be added when more races are added after the big 1.0 release :)

If thats the case it's not very logic to have him flying all over the place :p

He's not a High lord, well I don't think he is, will have to double check that.
Anyway he was the guy in charge of the gothic sub-sector war.

You must also keep in mind that the guard will have a Command/HQ squad aswell, and marines n chaos might have that too

yes the greater demon will be the lord of change as its Tzeentch
physical mainstation on the mortal plain and its cooler than the rest

well Tzeentch troops use a different colour scheme and rely on magic and illusion more than say khrone as they just use brute force but the shear power of their magic can do some serious damaging distregrating armour rendering flesh and bone. ^_^

as far as i remmber their was some special Tzeentch ground units notable their sorcerers but i cant remmber of my head if their was any spaceships that only they use can use however i never really played bfg so i wouldnt know :grin: but at the moment we have a list of 12 chaos ships to model so they have enough for now considering thats a hell lot more than marines have :p

We'll prolly just go with a red/black color scheme for their ships, even tho this might be a 'bloody' color that khorne might have used.

I swear the Lord Solar Macharius was the name of the ship in Execution Hour. (BFG Novel, is well amazing).
