Reducing Mismatch

I was wondering in this situation (we are both at my house on my LAN) which connection would get us less miss match errors
1. through an internet match
2. through LAN match
3. through direct connecting
I was also wondering if we both used a program like Alcohol 120% and made cd images if that would help at all.
I was wondering if this error is going to be fixed in remix 3 or contra 005?
basically I just want to reduce mismatch errors and increase fun game time and any way that I can do that is greatly appreciated
thanx

my friend and I love to play contra 004 over my LAN against at least 2 AI armies. but I was just wondering if there is a way to reduce the frequency of the miss match errors. we both have every thing on the lowest setting

A internet conenction through EAs server system is horrible. I highly recomend a LAN game. Either Hamachi lan, or physical lan. Iether way, just avoid the EA online system... even if you have to use Direct connect.
As far as a fix goes, I'm trying REALY REALY hard to fix the mismatch errors, but it is a loosing battle.
Between now and the next polished release there should be very little new art work done. Instead the focus is on designing, testing, and fixing. the mod has always been so close to finished that its nearly criminal. I'd love to see this through to the end with a real community effort.

So that's what causes those damn mismatchs now that's yet another reason why I hate EA .
EA Online just contributes to the problem. Most of the mismatches come from the bad comiles from WorldBuilder
