Well, now I reinstalled it (remove and reinstall, not repair) and it works fine again. Must've been something with the registries. But - if you know how to solve it post it here for others or future problems please.

Yeah I've had this same problem
and I cant find DatGen either...
I looked in all the disks as well.
Nothing....
So is it a complete reinstall of all of Generals, just ZH, or Contra?

Well, I never had to use it...
(Problem clear itself up...)
But I think you could hit "Run" and type "Datgen.exe" (I got bored and tryed it... It doesn't seem to work.)
Am I the only one to think of this?

This file is located in your generals zero hour folder. For me it is in C:\Games\Generals Zero Hour\

No it is not located in the Generals Zero Hour folder. I've got it installed in C:/Program Files/Games/C&C Generals Zero Hour/ but for a certain reason it is not there.

I needed it once, and I found it here too.

Between now and the next polished release there should be very little new art work done. Instead the focus is on designing, testing, and fixing. the mod has always been so close to finished that its nearly criminal. I'd love to see this through to the end with a real community effort.

how about instead of moaning and wanting to find one file that u clearly can not find, idk why its not in the folder it should be BUT moaning and spending a week trying to find your file is not going to fix your game.

Uninstall the mod and ZH then freshly reinstall and patch then installed the mod. I know its anoying but atlest it will fix your copy.

Read more carefully - I have already fixed it - this is only for others in the future.

:( I started DatGen.exe, but nothing changed. My units also explode in 10 seconds of playing. I dont want to reinstall the game (too lazy). Is there another way to make the game run properly?

Thanks for help

My computer was infested with spyware and the datgen worked for me after reinstalling OS, copying all game folders and importing the old registry keys from C&C.

I doubt others will go to the same lengths if they have the same troubles...
