OK, allow me to show you how this game works.

Example---

1st Post (by BobExample):

You stand at the edge of a canyon with a forest behind you. To the northis the forest, to the south the canyon (with a stream at the bottom), and to the west a bridge across the canyon. the east looks too crumbly for travel.

>Enter Command?

2nd Post (by BillyExample):

>Go east.

3rd Post (By SallyExample):

The ground crumbles and you find yourself at the bottom of the canyon with a bump on the head, on the shore of the gushing stream. A man in a black cloak stands, his back turned.

>Enter Command?

4th Post (by OTherExampleGuy):

>Dive into river.

End Example---

Yeah, then someone else posts results of that action, and so on. This can go funny, serious, et cetera.

Rules for this thread:

1. Make sure you could do what you command and that any results are realistic. Be creative-- Perhaps our character can transform into a fish because he's dreaming? Et cetera.

2. Proper grammar=Must.

3. Even though I'm the creator of this particular text adventure, it's ordered around by players.

4. Have fun.

BTW, I was inspired by the Zork Trilogy to do this.

Now, BEGIN!

------Beginning------

Vast Plain

You stand in the center of a vast plain, with grasees all around you. To the north lies a forest with a strange mountain int the distance. South, some trees and then a vast desert. to the east, a house stands with a sign labeled, "Keep Out". The west appears to be the site of a wide river.

(omg, this will be fun!)

With bloody knuckles, you are relieved by the emptying of your bladder. Blood and piss, however, is not a pleasant sight, especially when the sign is still standing, and you are getting the splashback.

You attempt to clean yourself up in a nearby stream. You're wet, and you're still a bit stained, but it's as good as it's going to get.

In front of you is the "Keep Out" sign, and a house in the near distance. To the north is a forest. To the west is a river too wide to cross. To the south is a small wooded area, and then an open desert plain.

You go past the piss-and-blood-soaked sign towards the house. You pass a long field of bramble bushes down a well-trodden dirt path towards the door. The large three-tier house looks run-down, but from the sign of the tracks down the path, you guess it has recently been visited. As you reach the door, you realise the house is a lot bigger than you thought it was. The mint-coloured paint peels from the exterior walls, some of the windows are boarded, and there is a small stairwell to the front door. There is an upturned vegetable cart, all rotten and worm-eaten, propped up against the side-wall. There's something under there, but you can't make it out. You cannot see around the other walls of the building, or the rear, and so don't know what's there.

You kick the vegetable cart. A shard of the wood snaps out and stabs into your lower calf. You also unleash a veritable horde of flies, which you are forced to bat away as they buzz off into the distance, while holding your calf. That was a dumb mistake.

You pull out the shard of wood after screaming. You will probably be able to walk on it; the gash isn't that deep, so you might not have tetanus either. You can smell a strange smell from under the cart.

You push the cart over, revealing a long-rotting horse carcass. It stinks vile, and you are knocked back to prevent you vomiting. However, you also see a key sticking out. It's surrounded by maggots and mortified flesh. Do you want it that badly?

Good thinking. You have successfully retrieved the key using the wooden shard.

INVENTORY ADD: Key.

You walk up the stairwell to the front door. There's not a lot to report here, except big cobwebs with spiders every bit as big. Other than that, it's just a regular porch. The door is a big double-door. It looks like the key will fit.
