I've donwloaded Contra 004 (???) and there ain't a English.csf. I can't find it iig. :(
its the Generals.csf
Between now and the next polished release there should be very little new art work done. Instead the focus is on designing, testing, and fixing. the mod has always been so close to finished that its nearly criminal. I'd love to see this through to the end with a real community effort.

It is called english.csf, cause it's for the english zero hour cause there also is russian.csf atleast of the guys here!
it gets CALLED english.csf... but is actualy the generals.csf. now, I imagine if you had the game in another language you caould add an english.csf to change the game to english, just as the russian.csf does to english.

There is a .csf to .str converter that makes the progression from .csf to .str pretty easy.
If you are interested i might might dig up the like to this utility.

you guys should really really shift to generals.str. You dont even have to mess with making new folders since the str file will load up even if it is contained in the .big file.

once I started using XCC mixer there was no reason to use anything else. It uses the .csf just fine and theres no need to change. It works great. why fix whats not broken?

post the link to that tool and I'll give it a try...pretty much. the installation muck up the reason why .str rocks and it loads on all version without nay mess.
On a side note .str can be simply edited using note pad.
