Is the AI able to keep up with the mod, or is this meant for online play?

my guess is that the earler versions will not have the AI for new teams, but with time they will learn to use the new teams/minifactions

I reckon they will have some sort of AI with the first release, I mean, it's gonna be a bit hard trying to find a person with the mod online (though it's getting easier by the day as more people recognise this mod). You might need someone on the team to answer you, Canterbury.

...The Journey doesn't end here; death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass. And then you see it. White shores...and beyond. A far green country, under a swift sunrise...

...Many folk like to know beforehand what is to be set on the table; but those who have laboured to prepare the feast like to keep their secret; for wonder makes the words of praise louder...

Adding AI for the original 4 factions is not a terribly difficult task. However, creating AI for the new factions will not be a quick and easy task, and some new gameplay aspects (the minifaction concept, in particular) will be very difficult - if not, impossible - to script for the AI. So while it is safe to say that some AI will be scripted to make the game playable for any initial release, don't expect a fully fledged system for some time.

that's a shame cuz if the completed Mod does present some problems, they'll have to make a patch to make gameplay more balanced. You know like you said about creating AI for each of the Minifactions would be near impossible to script for the AI. We can only hope that the AI for each of the individual factions and minifactions comes out successfull after all their good work, (but don't expect perfection)
I will remember Rhovanion Alliance, RIP .

For a mod, the AI is the most important imo.

Because you can't play mods online (unless you randomly know somebody with the same mod), then you're restricted to SP. But if half of the factions don't have an AI :S

Well hopefully we are all going to be playing each other online. That's something I've gotta work out as I've never play BFME online, although it probably doesnt help that I've got TEA installed atm.

I myself wouldn't mind if the AI couldn't use minifraction just as long as the main fractions does I fine. It really annoyed me when I first played the elvenstar mod and the AI couldnt play the elves or goblins.
