Fin's T3A Anniversary, and Retirement Post

Its been a blast, and I have had some good times, but I just don't have any fun when modding any more :( My newest passion is modding and playing Battle Field 2142 and Battlefield 2. I am an active member of the [Joint-Ops] clan, and a major silver on 2142. I am also increasing my knowledge and skills with CSS and Adobe/Macromedia Flash programs.
Special Goodbyes: I would like to take the time to write out a special "Goodbye" to all my friends here. If you don't see your name on the list, don't take it personally, it just means I didn't get to know you well enough to write a goodbye.
Here they are (in no particular order):
2PlayGames, you have been one of my best friends here, and probably one of the very few people I can say really made me into the modder I am. Your help with Map.ini stuff, and continued dedication to keeping T3A a fun place to be have made me look up to you ever since I started modding. Good luck in the future, and congratulations on making admin!
DLotS, you have also been one of my best T3A friends. Your help when I was a newbie, and your continued help to newbies and noobs alike have made T3A into a great place to be, both for the veteran modder and the guy who showed up yesterday. Thank you for that!
Hostile, I didn't really get to know you well, but I would like to thank you for T3A, the most helpful and fun place for modders to be! I wish you luck with CNC3.net, may it turn out to be a bit like T3A #2; a great place for modders to discuss ideas, help other modders, and just kick back and relax!
GTO, I would like to thank you as well, for your dedication to helping the newbie populace of T3A. I know you are retired and probably won't read this, but you have been a HUGE help to more modders than you might think you have helped. Its hard to believe how many newbies have had in their Sig "I love Gothmog the Orc and Dark Lord of the Sith"! That alone proves that you have been a huge part of this community. Thank you!
Lauri, for keeping T3A from being stiff and boring! I have to admit, your grammar and humor alone are a reason for me poke my head in every once in a while!
Azrael, for being an excellent friend. When you started modding, you weren't able to do much, but now... You are a fully fledged coder. You don't frequent T3A often anymore, but I have really enjoyed our MSN conversations together. Who would have thought we had the same first name? I still think thats pretty funny Thanks for being there mate!
Ryder, for being another excellent friend. I remember when 2Play almost scared you off from modding, you have progressed so far since then... I have shared many of my modding tips with you, and you are also a great modder. I hope to see you on MSN as well!
To all my VAL partners and friends:
Tom/Stealthsnake, I never told you, but I always considered you to be my rival Every time I thought I learned something that you hadn't, you would surprise us all. Your a much better modder than some people give you credit for, and you probably have the title of "Most Popular Modder" outside of T3A. I'll miss you and your terrible spelling, I hope to catch you on MSN every once in a while
Argolis, for being my fellow partner in crime! We have had so many funny conversations, exchanged our work, helped each other on new ways to test the BFME II SAGE engine and push it to its limits. Sadly, we never finished any of those tests, but I have several theories on how to get them to work! You are probably the BEST modder out there, although you don't show it off very often. Argolis the Jack-of-All-Trades! Thanks for being one of us VAL dudes, the four of us had so much fun, so many trials trying to stay together as a mod group, and I truly have enjoyed every second of every conversation I have had with you!
Ben, for being here to lighten up the mood! Your notorious grammar, your no-seriousness-at-all attitude, all covering up the great modeler/skinner you are. You work is so good, I can say that (in my opinion) is bested only by Nertea, the God of Skinning. Your somewhat like a demi-god Thanks for being here pal, I still plan on doing KoH with you as soon as you give me some orders
An extremely special thank you to:
Doc, for being my best friend (over the internet of course, I do have friends in RL too )! Man, all the problems we have had, the fights, the fun, it was all worth it. You probably won't see this (being banned from Revora and all), but I am typing it anyway. The "project" that we are working on together (although I haven't done much work... yet) will still go on! Even though we have had troubles, THE SHOW MUST GO ON! Thank you for making my time as a modder 500% better!
Thank you to everyone else who talked with me either on MSN, or on these excellent forums! Without all the people, T3A would be a rather dull place.
I hope to be here when CNC 3 comes out, so I'll see you guys there!
Signing off for now,
-Fingulfin

well thank you for that, it makes me feel all happy anyway, like i said before, i hope you will stick around just to chat, and maybe help the new generation of modders (now isn't that a political correct way to say n00bs ) with some of their questions2PlayGames, you have been one of my best friends here, and probably one of the very few people I can say really made me into the modder I am. I plan on releasing several of my projects and research to the general public soon, including a few finished tutorials and a few unfinished ones. The Dol Goldur wall pack WILL be completed and released, and I will also release some Isengard walls to the public. Why Isengard? In case any of you modelers want to make wall towers, the wall is already mapped I also have a way to make a hero switch portraits after getting an upgrade (like Gandi the Grey to Gandi the white), and although it is untested, I think it will work.
Hope to get this stuff out soon,
-Fin

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt
It's the CAH code right, where the portraits change based on their model condition state?
Anyway, goodbye and take care. I didn't really know you at all, but you were another helpful forumer who will be missed.

If there was ever anything that was said and was true it was this, hate to say goodbye fin, you always were a great friend and stuff, and you know I think bfme *modding* as it were is becoming abit of a relic of a past era...
