With CNC3 officially shipped to American retailers the first people actually playing the full game are starting to appear. Of course, you want to make your performance as best as possible. To help you with this Gamespot released a performance guide, which can be found here.

At least I won't need to tune things with my new comp, everything will be on ultra-high by default

Even though EA is shipping me a free copy I still went and bought the limited edition version today. I own 69857 of 100,000. I also adapted this famous Marines Creed This is My Rifle.

I'll attach it here if anyone wants to read, it's a txt file.

My online play seems to be alot smoother than skirmish play was for the demo (1280x960 resolution, Medium on the auto-settings).

I'm quite impressed for a fairly old PC.

I have no clue why my computer does below what I think it should do... Its a pretty nice computer too, I bought it for over a thousand dollars.

I run 800x600 and with medium-highish settings (No AA, shadows, shading, and all else custom settings) and I get pretty nice FPS. Anything with AA just dies on me horribly, unfortunately.

I have 3 GBs of memory @ 533mhz, Intel Viiv Pentium D 820 Dual Core Processor, 256MB nVidia GeForce 7300LE. Drivers are updated to recent versions.

Anyone have a thought on this?

Well, at the moment 3 GB is a bit overkill in most systems, while a LE type budget graphics card is pretty much the lowest you can get and not to be recommended for playing games.

The graphics card may be the reason for your problems.

Ah. Well I can't afford much as I am only 14, but got any alternatives? Whenever I decide to play CNC, I terminate all the useless processes, and kill my internet, along with security.

Depends on your hardware and your settings. CPU (5000+ looks fine), what kind of DDR ram is it (can make a difference). The video card.. hmmm.. thats ok. C&C3 would demand alot from it if you start maxing out details and playing on hi res like 1600x1200.
