Hey everyone

This is a classic 2v1 fortress map for RotWK. I put a lot of effort in this, hope you enjoy.

I'll be glad if you guys post some comments so I can make updated version.

Very sweet. :goes to download: Btw is this balanced ? Because it seems to me that the area that attackers has is slightly limited but there is 2 players attacking so I cant say anything before playing.

I hope so. While the fortress may look hard to breach, the defender doesn't have enough room to build many resource buildings -> he won't have enough units -> he'll be forced to feint a bit :) .

because he wants people to get it off MeVault atm because it's entered in the map contest and he wants downloads and votes, I guess.

But when the contest is over, don't hesitate to upload it here.

Btw, is there a Carn Dum map already in ROTWK and, if so, what does it look like?

IIRC it's campaign-only, but I've never seen it and haven't played ROTWK that much

The map that it is ROTWK done by Ea sucks. And I think that it also is in skirmish, cant remember but I think that I played it once.

Sweet map, but I still am clueless on how you got the skybox to work. I followed the directions you gave in the worldbuilder section, but I still can't get it to work. I can get all the other cinematic objects to work, just can't get the darn skybox working. Perhaps you could write a small tutorial about it? :p

My best guess is that he editted the ini.big enviroment file so that it only works for him but not for others. thats what im guessing.

Just figured out how to do it a couple of days ago. Maybe I'll create a tutorial on it if people are interested. You have to mod the game though, so I believe you can't do it on stand alone maps.

can that not even be handled using a map.ini file ? I thought one could entirely recode the INI using these magic files ?

I though about that and I think I'll test it later tonight. I need to see if you even have to edit any of the files.

Was abroad this week, sorry for late response. Skyboxes count as cinematics objects and therefore they should be working if you follow my text - please note that not everyone CINE objects works, this may be the problem why you don't get some skyboxes working.

Agree that it would be impossible to do for stand-alone maps, I don't know what magic can map.ini do, but still, I doubt it :p .

Thank you for comments on the map, they're very appreciated.

Morgoth who made the Epic Minas Tirith map did that I believe. If I understand that correctly, lol.

That map is for BFME 1 (where cinematics objects work fine).

it sucks in skirmish mode.
they've just made the normal wall bigger.
see it as the wall of MotW in BFME2 3 times bigger and you've got the Carn dum map.

i'd like to play this map just for the detail. i'm sure it's better than the ROTWK map.

Yea, time showed that the detail is only thing this map offers. If I make another map I'll try to balance it a "little" more bit ;)

do you think it's possible to edit this map so it can be played with BFME2?
