How would i go about installing the mod on a Vista OS? :p If you don't know already, the Vista OS is completely different as i believe these were XP installing instructions. Because I cant get past the first step? lol. There is no application data folder after user name... I have been trying for hours, if anyone here has Windows Vista, I would truly appreciate your answers

EDIT: Edited your headline so we understand what it's about //Naz

Hey, I'll help, since I've had to weed my way through Vista without much guidance.

ok, so, if you haven't enabled hidden files and folders, go to the search box in the start menu and type in "folder options", and select the folder options bar that comes up. You'll get a menu with three top bars on it, General, View, and Search. Select view, scroll down the list till you see the Hidden files and folders option. Set it to show.

Now, open your user (ex. mine is Tom) and there should be a ghostly icon that says AppData. open that, and you might get several folders. Select the one that says roaming and open the folder My Battle for Middle-Earth 2 files. if this folder's not in roaming, check the other folders in AppData.

open that folder and stick the SEE.big folder in it. The icon part of the mod is exactly the same for Vista.

Hope that helped.
If I were you and you were me I'd have a different face.

You should place the SEE.big file inside C:\Users\YourUser\AppData\Roaming\My Battle for Middle-earth Files
Once you have placed the Mod's Big file inside there open up the shortcut and edit the Target line like so:
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Battle for Middle-earth ™\lotrbfme.exe" -mod "C:\Users\YourUser\AppData\Roaming\My Battle for Middle-earth Files\SEE.big"
Click Apply, Then ok & you can now run the modification.

So basicly, you want to promote your user on the computer to administrator?

You need to log on to the administrator and from there you can give your own user the administrator rights.

Well, now that's a tricky one :p
I haven't worked with Vista yet, but normally, you can always reach the admin-account (yes, every windows copy creates one automatically) by pressing F8 at startup and go into the safe-mode of windows... there you can choose to log in with the admin account...

It would seem that this is the wrong forums for this. It belongs in...somewhere else other than SEE. I know there is a paticular forum out there for it, but where?

Ok, I'm about to tear my freakin' hair out over this. I'm following the Target and Start In instructions and my PC tells me the folder in the Start In box does not exist even though I'm freakin' looking at it. For Vista I'm putting this in as instructed for BFMEII:

Target
"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Battle for Middle-earth ™ II\lotrbfme2.exe" -mod

Start In
"C:\Users\YourUser\AppData\Roaming\My Battle for Middle-earth™ II Files\SEE.big"

Frankly, I don't understand why the Start In field is completely different than in XP. When I had it set up to XP instructions it would at least load but then it would crash after the first cut scene. I get all of the error messaging and I have 1.06 installed.

Target: "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Battle for Middle-earth ™ II\lotrbfme2.exe" -mod

Start In: "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Battle for Middle-earth ™ II"

I have Vista, and that's just straight of copied from my shortcut. It's not the same as your's, so try it out and see how it goes dude

Well, I've tried that and and just tried it again. That just loads the regular BFMEII game. I don't understand why vista doesn't need to see the SEE.big file for you?

The only way I can even see SEE Beta IV is if I have the following:

Target: "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Battle for Middle-earth ™ II\lotrbfme2.exe" -mod SEE.big

Start In: "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Battle for Middle-earth ™ II"

However, with that all I can do is play the tutorials in a limited capacity (e.g. builders won't build in Basic Tutorial) and the campaigns crash to desktop either as soon as you load them or after hanging up on the initial load screen for a few seconds.

Killin' me man.

Correction: My Target and Start In properties above seemingly work for the Evil campaign. However, the Good campaign still will not load. I get a module error and an error with loading the Good Rivendell map. Thanks for any help.

Lol. Well, there you go then. It seems I have experienced an extreme amount of angst for nothing.

Hmm. Well, maybe I'm just an idiot and don't know what the heck I'm doing even though I've installed many mods and played them in the past but some of the upgrades don't seem to work as advertised. The fell beast still exploded in mid-air once it died instead of falling to the ground. However, other things worked such as having the Dale Barracks as an optional structure for the Dwarves and the skins all seem to be in order...
