its July 4th and that means its the USA's 231st anniversary of the signing of the Delaration of Independence.

the only thing i want to say is thank you France. People may make fun of you, but if it wasn't for you, we wouldn't be our own country today. Thanks France ;)

I always thought you were Canadian...maybe that was Celeglin? Canadians are cooler than Americans (then again, who isn't? :D)

Oh well, happy random pointless day I don't care about ;)

I wonder how much respect one can expect from others by simply despising them.

Such stereotypes hinder our relationships as human beings, and I thought that all of you would know better ;)

That remains a stereotype, at least according to Wikipedia

Stereotypes are ideas held about members of particular groups, based primarily on membership in that group.

Ched is right in my opinion.

Happy 4th of July to the US and France (and any other country that celebrates something on this day).

I'm not going off stereotypes. I've known Italians and I've known French. I can't stand either. Germans, however, are perfectly acceptable.

Yes, you are going off stereotypes. Have you met every person in France? Since I assume you haven't, what your doing is judging everyone in France by the unpleasant cases you may have had with several French people. Besides, being French, Italian, or German doesn't detemine what the person will be like. In the end, that stuff doesn't matter a whole lot. We just make it seem like it does :D

The country doesn't make the person wholly. Arseholes can be found everywhere and so can kind people.

seriously, if you really want Italy and France to die, beat it ;)
I don't know any frenchie or italian personally, but I don't think that I could judge the whole population because of a few people I've met :D

But you will agree that where you are born and raised, does have a huge affect on your personality.

Yes but how parents raise their children isn't solely influenced by a country. Borders are just some political lines. The culture doesn't suddenly change between one kilometre and another. Everyone is different and I believe one should not put people in stereotypical groups but make a new little place for every person.

Exactly. Once you've known a hundred or so Frenchmen and a hundred or so Italians, come back with your opinion of them. Oh how it will change. rolleyes:

I've been on holidays to France for years and my grandparents used to have a house in the south of France, I haven't come across what you describe.

And @ adummy: lol.

To all people who're going to see fireworks: Have fun ;).

Nert lived in France for a year and he met many Frenchmen, and they were mostly pleasant chaps.

After a year of putting up with ignorant, inconsiderate, rude and moronic Italians, I finally cracked and the prejudices started to develop.
