I've a question, when does the cyber AI build SW or Super units (fafnir)? I've played against hard sometimes now and he ran over me with ordenary units (light/heavy mechs, droids,...) never have seen a fafnir or sw do they only built them in insane?

on insaine, the AI will send waves and waves of mechs, infantry, planes, helocopters and artillery to your base. spider mechs included. i dont think it builds fanfirs, because i have had several long insaine AI games. after about 10-15 minutes of attacking your base constantly with units being sent constantly, it may superwepaon far, meaning it will build about 7 or more tomahawk storms.

though, you wouldnt last long if you played against insaine by yourself. it is designed for 2-3 players to take it on in a comp stomp.

i tired taking 3 of them on insane, i lasted 16 minutes.

The ai does build fafnirs they just take ages to do so... Well i not sure about hard but insain they do.
But I also find that once the ai builds SW's his attacks lighten a considarable amount. (idk ifs thats ment to happen or not)

Thats why me and hiroshi managed to beat insain we lasted long enough for his attacks to calm down then he being sw gen spamed lots and lots of shield generators around my bases..... i was teh cannon fodder all i did was stay alive as the ai never attacked hiroshi for some reason >.<

The AI will only attack the closest base to them. It's annoying seeing one line of enemies traversing to one base, while the rest of the map remains open

idk olli was closer to him in one map i am sure of it....
Ask olli i am seriosly always the target for some reason.

well, i think it calculates which is the easest oponent to beat as cyber general. Pend must have put this logic in.

Hi guys!
I have a little diferent question - what unit (special unit) is the most powerful? Is it the Fanfir or something other?

it depends how you mean powerful? in armour, damage, weapons etc?

i personally think that the Fanfir is the best all round "super unit" as such, but in actual PVP matchs, people hardly use it, or any tech 3 heavy unit/super unit, because of the cost.

what u talking bout olli i always uses 2-3 super units if i get to the right tech

It just comes down to do i have the money, but by that point in the game u don't need them or you have a good money flow.

im talking about PVP, not agianst the AI.

i dont think any good player, would ever wait until tech 3 to start an attack, no one would let you survive that long.

games hardly go on that long, you should be dead, or your oppentent should be dead by tech 2.

Not really olli if the 2 players facing each other are both very skilled players ie: evenly matched then the game couled last awhile, You don't need to wait to get to super tech.

My and hiro had a game on contra 4 back when it first came out and the game lasted a fair amount of time.
I was demo gen he was infantry gen, he could not get past my defence line and if he breached my suicide units would soon make short work of his infantry then the line would be reformed.
But everyone of my attacks failed aswell as his defence line was also very tough, The only reason i won was because we lasted long enough for me to get nuke trucks and sneak attack.

my point is that if a person is good at counter attacking and defending and both even matched players it could be tough to win and the fight could last.

but to get to tech 3, how much is that, $8000? then how much is a Fanfir, about $5000, maybe $4500?

so that comes to minimum $12500, to get one fanfir form tech 2....that is a lot of money, and all of that money could easily be spent on tech 1/2 units that will easily do more damage than one fanfir, if all that $12 500 is spent, for example on seeker droids.
they cost about $400?

so spending $12500 on seeker droids= about 10x more damage than 1 fanfir could ever do.

for the amount of money you have to spend getting it, and how long it takes etc, i would rather spend it all on basic mechs/seeker droids and artillery.

and think how many basic units you could get for $12500.
if all of them went up agains 1 Fanfir, the basic units would win. sure some would be lost, but the person who built the fanfir just lost $12500.

imagine thats all you had left, both of you.
i would spend it all out right on crusaders, tomahawks and seeker droids.

the other guy might decide to reserch tech 3 ($8000) and then buy a Fanfir... then all his money has gone, just to get one unit....

that means i would easily rape him, because i have so many more units, at the same price as his 1 "super" unit.

Olli 1 fafnir could kill over half of seeker droid u could get with the money your talking about. Its plasma cannons have splash damage and has 2 shots and 1 blast could easily kill 2 in 1 hit then u have that splash damage hitting the rest then u have the second shot that would kill 2 plus splash damage.
And while reloading u have fast firing MGs and high powered lasers, also with that upgrade they are built with 1-2 rank (can't remember if its 1 or 2)
Basicly sure u could build mass units but does not mean your win.
As pend says he uses a "mix" of units some heavy ones for support but alot of small as well.
If u only depend on your little units cos u can build them like they was water outa a tap u will lose.
Then imagen the shiatan that would rip through your seekers pretty nicely.

And as i said before if you face a player that is the same skill as u then teh game may last long enough to get to rank 3.
Also If your game is lasting that long you "should" Have a good money income by then, Also why are u disputing this? In all the games i played with you i never seen u "not" build your big heavy units including tech 3 if u get to it.
So i guess i am not the only 1 that likes the heavy super units.

O btw guest the osirus is the partical tech tree tank, it does not have a plasma cannon it has a penitrator cannon.
