Change infanrty weapons?

Ive been trying to give the GDI Riflesoldier the Blackhands Flamethrower, Ive managed to get the Riflesoldier to shoot flames but it still has the old gun (see pic). Also the flash from the rifle is still there and follows the unit around even when its not firing (see pic) .

How do you change which gun the infantry unit is holding ? Is it referenced somewhere in the units xml file?

The gun is part of the model and so is that muzzle flash effect you still have. It is kind of weird that the muzzle flash is there even when the unit is not firing, but that might be because it's not hidden properly with LUA. Did you make this a new unit or just edited the weapon of the original GDI riflesoldier? Posting the code of your unit will certainly also help.

I Just edited the riflesoldier.xml . So the gun is part of the units model is it? (I thought they were separate for some reason) .If i can get rid of the muzzle flash it'll do for now, im still just trying to figure things out.

How do you attach files to posts?

Seems pretty weird to me that the muzzle flash is actually there all the time, unless you cut out the AIUpdate part, which I highly doubt.

There is a "File Attachments" option below the post form, but it's possible that you need to have a certain number of posts first. If you only want to post your XML codes you can also paste them in, using the code tags.

I guess it was the board the cut off the rest of the unit code. If you didn't change anything in the Draw block, cut that out and fill it up with the rest of the unit's code.

ya the board cut out some of it , heres the rest... (still some of the end missing, when i checked post length it was wll under the max and it previewed fine :D , its only some audio stuff missing anyway.)

Okay, I haven't actually looked into C&C3's model/animation coding, but I guess the reason is that you cut out this:
<WeaponMuzzleFlash
	WeaponSlotType="PRIMARY_WEAPON"
	BoneName="B_WEAPONA_FX" />
from the default ModelConditionState. In the original Rifle soldier code there are 4 of those settings (FireFX, Recoil, MuzzleFlash and Launch) while in your flamethrower unit there is only the WeaponLaunchBone.

DLotS is correct, you've removed the part that tells the game what object to use as the muzzleflash.
Because it doesn't know that is the muzzleflash it assumes it's just a normal part of the model and displays it at all times.
