Uruk Hai Shields

hey.... I want to be able to have the Uruk Hai warriors have thier cool shields like in the movies. is it possible that there is a mod or to make one where the uruk hai fight with sword and shield? any help on this?

also im looking to edit the game to make it where dead units bodies would take 30 sec to about a min to sink into the ground...like so alot of units are dead on the battlefield for a while before dissappearing.

any way to change this in the ini.big file or somewhere

First up the Shields.Simply add the shields to the model.
If you keep the shield small it looks pretty good with the Uruk Hai.

Secondly for the sink it is defined in the Slow Death Behaviour I think just change a value there.

Behavior = SlowDeathBehavior ModuleTag_05
		DeathTypes = ALL 
		SinkDelay = 3000
		SinkRate = 0.40	; in Dist/Sec
		DestructionDelay = 8000
		Sound = INITIAL SarumanVoiceDie
		ShadowWhenDead = No
	End

just change the sink delay

hmm...i see but i am a noob to this actually...lol is there a uruk hai shield model for download or not sure how to do this otherwise ;)

as for the sink rate...wow....theres like 1,000 seprate sink delay lines....lol if i change all of them to say 100,000...is that like 100 seceonds?

For 30 seconds change the settings to
SinkDelay = 30000
and
DestructionDelay = 35000

ok...since there is like 1,000 seperate lines of code....i changed all of them...but the game wouldnt start... is there only certain lines you are able to change? i just noticed when i finished doing it that each line of code has a unit...but i think i mightive hit the wrong line or so...i now see like sections with "objects", "cine" and some others

should i just changed the lines with "objects"? ;)

and the only file i have to change is the INI.big right?

What?
You changed everything?
You might need to get a clean version of ini.big and start again.
The only line you would have to edit is the SinkDelay (and maybe the destruction delay) for each unit you want.

There are no mods that I know of that have the uruk shields for download.
My mod has uruk shields but is not up for downloads.
Might I suggest using a Gondor shield and modifying it.

If you are going to add shields, then why not make a duplicate uruk model and add the shield to that. And modify the Uruk-hai coding so that you have multiple types of uruks instead of the monotone look of 10 uruk clones in a battalion.

well...i changed the sink delay for the units in the INI.big file and the game wouldnt start after that....says theres a problem with the game.dat file access violation or somewthing.... unless i just have to edit the game.dat file and not the ini.big......but its all in gibberish.... lol :p

download finalbig editor here
And extract the big file then edit it with notepad.

you'll find it in Gamedata.ini it will be something like URUK_DAMAGE just try searching for that

hmm...i came across something while looking through the lines.

gondor captain, rohan royal guard, isengard wildman, isengard overseer, mordor orc scout, seperate unit banner carriers that you can create as 1 unit and ADD them to other battlions, porters, more heroes, and some more things.

its weird that all this stuff is in here and not put in...?

i saw some porter models, sauron, isildur in world builder...unless these things are only in the campaign?

Many games have unused stuff in them :good: Of course, most of it needs some re-working for them to fit in with the game.

Eg. in bfme 2 gothmog needs touching up to work properly like the animations.
