The only reason they're even around is because Timbaland got lucky and somehow made the top ten and all those dirty south bling blang crunk losers with an IQ of less than 50 rode Timbalands asshole all the way to the finish. So which sounds more promising to you all?

And you left all your cds at home, Nothing on the radio but news and you're in the middle of no where and you're dieing of bordum. Which would you rather be stuck having to hear?

Yeah good thinking. Keep in mind you'll have to camp in the wilderness for a day or two since only a few cars drive through there each day. But I'd Rather camp in burning sunlight and freezing night than listen to that crap too.

A Matter of Life and Death's nothing special, if you ask me. Dance of Death was a brilliant album, but AMLD was nothing when compared to Fear of the Dark or 7th Son. There is, essentially, no good rock music coming out at the moment. There is, however, a great deal of awesome metal appearing at the fringes, although most of it's been around for a long time already, and is just not very famous. By the way, for you Maiden fans, if you don't know them already, go for Saxon. They're awesome. And I think I shall start a proper metal thread going here so people can tell me their favourite real music

Oh yes I do. I went to see them off it, and I was rather disappointed. They played the whole album straight through, and then only did a few of the classics. I'm looking forward to seeing them again at Wacken this year, though. Classics all the way! But you've got to admit, it wasn't a patch on Fear of the Dark, which is clearly their best album ever. Although I will admit that Brave New World and Dance of Death were pretty epic

I disagree. Somewhere In Time and Powerslave are vastly superior albums to Fear of the Dark. I only wish Maiden would come through my town. I want to see the classics!

I'd say modern rock over rap anyday, anytime, anywhere...though tbh I don't have much of a problem with either, so long as it isn't played too loud.

Also, if you want some decent heavy metal that's come out since the turn of the century, I recommend again Astral Doors (established in 2002, and fucking awesome. Reminiscent of Maiden, Dio and that sort of stuff.)

And, I'm guessing most of you will already know him, but Daughtry, who had something or other to do with American Idol. His album actually kicks ass.

Furthermore, I would strongly recommend the new albums by Atreyu and Avenged Sevenfold. I wasn't a fan of either before, but they have converted with me. This may be due in part to their use of country and western themes in parts of both albums. I love country music!
