Who owns This?

Are the same names allowed?
What about events?
What about similar events?
What about the same kind of things happening, but with characters of my own invention?
What about other peoples characters?
How much permission will I need?
Technically, i created this, although FZM and Darkskul now 'own'(or manage) it.
Does this give the three of us extra rights in it, above the rest of you oiks?
Or did my passing control also pass on ownership?
Am allowed to use any contents from anyone else posts at all?
What do you lot think?

This is the place where all the junkies go, where time gets fast but everything gets slow.
I'll get to the moon if I have to crawl.
The problem with any government is that it eventually attracts politicians.

I'd say asking permission of all members whoes characters you are going to include in the book would do the trick.
It would surprise me if anyone will say no.

But yeah, for politeness' sake, I'd agree with Solinx and Dr. Pyth here

FZM and Vort don't do tag wrestling...but if they did, they'd probably be the worst tag-wrestlers in the world.

92% of teens have moved onto rap. If you are part of the 8% that still listen to real music, copy and paste this into your signature.

Well, I don't think there are any lawyers here who can inform you about any laws concerning this. wink.gif
I wouldn't be so sure, boo the hamster leads a double life!.. by day, your average hamster, but by night, boo the hamster lawyer!
Wrong do-ers, beware! remember those dvds you burnt?, remember that assessment you plagiarised in school? *starts playing lame old batman theme music*, well now, your time has come!
Okay, seriously, if you were really worried im sure you'd find that there are already heaps of movies where a virus turns people into zombies, but you didn't get sued for making an RPG about it, so im sure you wont get sued by making a story about it.
I would do something like that, but im to damn lazy
ps. You can use kelvin and boo if you want too as well, just remember, you do anything they don't like, and boo the hamster lawyer will be all over you like a bad smell!
okay, ill stop being weird now

If you meet me:
Have some courtesy,
Have some sympathy,
And some taste.
Use all your well-learned politesse,
Or I'll lay your soul to waste.

I was just gonna copy and paste all the posts into word and edit them.

if you have plans of putting it all together, then i would edit things a bit, to have it flow better
and would you do that for everything thats happened so far? cause thats an awful lot of posts to copy, and edit, and put together

But personally, I wouldn't advise that at all (except for personal use) as with each post the style of writing changes. If someone were to write it of their own mind they'd be able to set the tone however they liked, and keep the writing style the same throughout.
And don't forget, if you do have intentions of making it available to the public eye, credit must be given to the original authors, or at least benefactors of ideas, depending which approach you take.
Anyways, best of luck.
