Seconded. Although, I think it's generally acknowledged that Vista is, in fact, craptacular.
Of course I don't look busy; I did it right the first time.

when i boot the game i get the splash screen then a window pops up telling me the updates need to reboot the computer and no matter how i close this box it reboots the computer and it keeps doing this over and over, so the game never plays now

What can you expect (though you probably won't be back now it;s been so long) it's WINDOWS VISTA were dealing with here, the SP 1 which is almost as big as Vista itself (imagine downloading the patch, you leave it over-night, get up eat breakfast, its still going, 2 hours later the fair use policy says "oh no you can't do that" and cuts you off (smilies broken!?)) dosen't cure many problems.
And on top of that, Zero hour was built with XP in mind, Vista is an entirely different build so almost nothing on XP will work on Vista; sorry...

I was reading something on the internet and it is possible to run games that only work on XP with vista using "XP compatibillity" I don't know if it'll help though.
