I heard Ra3 will have an engine that is more user-friendly to minipulate, in other words, it is supposed to be easier to mod and have more options available. I think it is called the RNA engine.

Does anyone know anything else about this?

Mastermind might know. After all, he is the official C&C Community Mod Manager for EA.

Realism is so overrated it isn't even funny. You already know what happens in reality, how is that entertaining...?

Thanks for the advice, TX1138.

Well, I did find out that it all started with the 'SurRender 3D Engine', which was highly
modified and renamed the 'W3D' Engine. When EA bought Westwood, the W3D engine was updated further and renamed 'SAGE'. The 'SAGE' Engine was 60% rewritten and renamed 'RNA' specifically for Red Alert 3.

We will have to just wait and see how modable it really is.

If they've genuinely redone 60% of the engine they've hopefully got rid of the compiling stuff that stopped the modding accessibility displayed by previous C&C games.

And I hope they got rid of the really unneccesary asset.dat (or did they cut that in CNC3 already?)

Asset.dat disappeared with C&C3.

And I assume that if it was replaced with something else, you'd have mentioned it?

You have to compile all the files anyway, so there is no real equivalent.
